Is Tiger back?

Watched the Aussie open that Tiger is playing, last night (2nd rd). He made some wonderful shots and is playing more like the Tiger of a couple years back.

Jason Day who was playing with stated that "Tiger is the only person on earth who could hit a couple of the shots that he hit"

It is only 1/2 over but I have always liked watching Tiger (pre-temper attacks). It would be good for golf if he can get back to his old self of 5 years or so ago.

It appears that John Daly has just about worn out his welcome with the PGA! I suppose he may be able to play the Chinese Tour. Probably just waiting for the "Seniors Tour". He has gone off the deep end again with his persistant "fuck it attitude"
I think his play the first two rounds shows something you haven't seen in long time. Not only were the scores good, but he had a comeplete game from the reports I've seen. The next two will tell us something, but "back" is still a ways down the road to my thinking.

As far as Daly's concern, I think he's finally done until he hits 50. You can't go on underperforming and expect the excemptions to keep coming. I chuckle at the initial reports I read that daid he "Walked off the course." Of course he did. That's what happens when you run out of balls, you're dq'd. What's he gonna do? Walk the rest of the round? Now, whether he ran out of balls because he was whacking them out at will, I don't know. Either way, I think he's done. I tired of him a few years ago.

Good Luck!

I didn't see it, but the reports were that Daly was upset over an official's ruling that penalized him two strokes on the previous hole. He then proceeded to hit seven balls into the water off the next tee, and thus was unable to continue when he ran out. Most certainly it was intentional. I don't care how difficult a hole might be, I don't believe that I could possibly put the same shot in the water 7 times unless it was a forced carry that I didn't have the length to clear. Obviously that's not an issue for Daly of all people (or anyone else playing in a pro tournament for that matter).
Come on, guys. You're falling into the same exact trap we've been hammering others about for months: He's back/he's not/he's back/he's not. Even in the pit Tiger could do what he did on the front nine at Augusta this year. Then he couldn't.

Hit some shots only he could hit? Did Day see where a good number of his drives went, too? Give him a full year -- for Tiger -- of play, por favor?

Screw Daly. As I wrote last week.

Don't toss me into the "he's back" group until I say that. As I said above, two rounds of golf does not a comeback make. This was shown in number three with a good followup in four. I think it's his most positive outing in a while, but he's got a long way to go to show me he's competetive again. The thing that keeps me from believing, in addition to poor results, is the amount of time these changes are taking. His preevious two changes took some time too, but he was still winning along the way. Of course, he didn't have to cope with injuries the way he has this time either. only time will tell. Personally, I see him coming back (with or without Foley), but the Tiger we once knew is long gone. He'll never intimidate like he used to. The young crew coming up just doesn't see him that way. I look forward to seeing some good golf out of him.

Good Luck!

0-2. GREAT pick, Couples.
Exactly why I said to reserve judgement on his return. I didn't get to watch much coverage, but tv guys all agreed neither Stricker or Johnson was much help. On the other side of the coin though, you don't see him hitting "Tiger" shots. What I see are a lot of "ordinary guy" shots. When I start to see some "Tiger" shots, I'll change my mind, but I think that's a long way off. That's assuming it ever returns. It's been two years and that's a long, long time.

Good Luck!

Watched Tiger vs Bads on the final day and Tiger putted as he has not for a long long time! Good to see him putting well again. At least yesterday!
The guy played great in singles. Impressive. And he just seemed to be playing. Not that vengeful style when he went low on the front nine at Augusta, only to back up.

And whether it was a Couples mandate -- "Dude, I'm sticking my neck out picking you so you damn well better smile and make nice with the press" -- or the hint of a wind shift, it was nice to see him actually answer questions, and with only a hint of contempt in his expressions and demeanor.
First victory in 2 years. Nice too see.
