As many across the country will be doing in about an hour and a half, I'll be watching 11 year old Lucy Li competing in a professional tournament. Her accomplishment in qualifying is amazing in itself. I see already that she shot an 8 over 78 for the first round, which puts her ahead some tour players. Her chances of making the cut are next to nil, which I think is good for her. I would hate to see her tournament fires fueled before their time, re: Michele Wie. I think Wie is finally comfortable with herself and where she is in her life. I have a feeling that if she had followed a more traditional tournament similar to what Tiger did, she might have seen her first LPGA win at 18 or so rather than a few years later. Much can be said for learning how to win at the various levels before trying at the highest level. Much can also be said for not rushing the aging process.

I'll enjoy watching her today. I just she and her parents can keep it all in perspective.

Good Luck!
