Mesquite / St. George

Planning on taking a golf trip, in late February, to Mesquite / St. George area.

Any recommendations?
It could be cold. At least cold by Left Coast standards.

On the way up or back the must-play is Coyote Springs. In Mesquite, Conestoga. Your call on Wolf Creek. It is a staggeringly mind-blowing routing, also one where you play it once in your life and you're done. The cream of the crop in St. G area are Sand Hollow and Coral Canyon.
I've played Wolf Creek several times and it is the most unique Golf course, I have ever played! Each time, I introduced someone new to the experience and they were in awe. You won't shoot your best score there, and the round will take upwards of 4.5 hours to complete, but the elevation changes and scenery are amazing. Bring plenty of balls (both kind)!
Wolf Creek is something, indeed. I'm just not sure it is golf as Shadow Creek at some level really isn't golf even if it's a place I really really really enjoy when I'm there. Wolf has received a lot of accolades from me over the years -- except for service. But I guess like so many things in life, outlooks change. I'm lucky, I play a lot of golf, all over. And I've kinda gotten to the point where the clutter of it all is starting to bug me. Maybe I've been poisoned by Bandon, that something so outstanding could be so, well, simple. Hell, Santa brought me a Sunday bag this year. It won't change my game. I certainly didn't need one, but I really like it, it's uncluttered, uncommercial, it's simple. Like walking a course.

That's why I've been critical of Wynn GC and the abomination Trump has on the coast in RPV and Bali Hai; oh my, Bali Hai, yuck. Sure, there are some awesome golf holes out there. They aren't golf experiences, and that would remain even w/o the usurious pricing.

But rk, you do need to play Wolf. Just not to the exclusion of some of the others.

Thanks guys for the information. This is exactly the type of insight I was hoping to get when I posted the question. I am Canadian, so I don't think that the "cold" temperature will be a real issue. The real problem with be with the currency exchange rate making for example a $100 round of golf into a $140 Canadian dollar golf fee!
Thanks to all your suggestions LVA gang!!!! While in Mesquite, we played Wolf Creek and I will say, it was a rather stunning course with all the elevation changes. While we played, we never saw anyone in front of us until the 17 hole. We finished our round in less than 4 hours and the weather was absolutely perfect.

We also played Sand Hollow and really enjoyed that course. That back nine is stunning and it felt like we were almost at Wolf Creek. We jumped on with a $ 50.00 twilight rate, and again, we never saw another human the entire round. Hence, we finished in under 4 hours again. We had sunlight until about the last hole.

Thanks to everyone for your great suggestions! I will post some pictures one I get them uploaded.
Glad it worked out.
