With all the avid golfers here, surely someone has spent some time at Pinehurst. I will be in the Charlotte area in early April. We are thinking about a night or two at Pinehurst, but the prices are somewhat astronomical at the resort itself. One of the items on my "bucket list" is to play a round on Pinehurst #2. My wife does not play, so I will be the only player in the group. The down side seems to be that to be guaranteed a tee time at #2 you really need to stay at the resort. Non resort guests can only make tee times one day in advance, so you chance being locked out if it is crowded. As the course is re-opening in March after the remodel and April weather is usually good there, the chances of being locked out are pretty good.

For those who have been there, is it worth the price to stay at the resort, and worth the price to play #2.
