I'm back from Primm Desert. Check their overseeding schedule. They were overseeding the Lakes course last week. Club rental was $50 for Callaway Razr HL irons 5-PW, 3h, 4h, a forged 56° wedge, Razr black driver, 3 and 5 woods. Also came with 6 Diablo balls. The cart had a sky caddie GPS thing that gave some helpful hints on where to play your tee shot.
The course was in very nice shape. The fairways are the widest I've ever played and lots of them slope to the middle. Wasn't until the 11th hole that I realized they gave me stiff shafted woods. I switched to regular flex this year. My regular drivers are 10.5° regular flex. The 9.5° stiff shaft had me hitting low lasers off the tee. Only missed 2 fairways the entire round. The greens are gigantic and due to poor distance control on my approach shots had some 100 ft putts.
The people running the course were extremely friendly and helpful.
