Still around

I'm still kicking. Not sure I can still get in to the main board but on a lark tried logging in here for the first time in eons and apparently that function still works.

With local friends and the sporadic drop in when in transit along the 15, I've rather rudimentarily stayed in touch with the game up that way. Our personal sights and interests have kinda moved well past Vegas, as happens, but golf is still near dear and nearly #1 to this guy. I'm spending as much time in Arizona, way more in Hawaii, and life along the Central Coast has really opened up new places and experiences.

I'd like to see more golf chatter here but feel the writing is on the wall. If anyone wants to talk equipment or tour talk or play out and about across this great land, let's do it.
I know nothing about golf in Las Vegas, but my brother in law does like to play and he's going to a conference in July. He'd like to play golf there, but doesn't know anything about the courses. What is the best place to play? He's an attorney so cost isn't a factor. His conference is at Caesar's but he has the money and the time during the week to go anywhere.
If he's at Caesars he should consider Caesars' course out by Boulder City, Cascata.
Thanks. He'll be playing at Cascata.

I have never played that course in BC. I have played Boulder Creek and the Muni course in BC. I like both courses. Muni is super cheap and laid back. It is also very open in between fairways so it makes for a nice beginner course as well. Boulder Creek is a little tougher than muni but still a fairly forgiving course. Boulder creek is a little more expensive than the Muni but you can often get a special to play both courses for 1 low fee. I believe you have to play both courses within 2 weeks of each other or it will expire. They do not always offer that special though.

Ken2v how would you rate Cascata compared to the Muni and Boulder Creek?

On a side note, Ken2v I know we started out on sour note many years ago on this forum but I wanted to say it is good to see you posting again and that I appreciate your insight on the game and Vegas' courses. Hope you are doing well and we can keep this forum alive!

I give props to all three in the book, for different reasons. All depends, ultimately on cost and expectation. Though separated by hundreds, all offer value. City is a muni, in all ways, and that's not necessarily bad. Creek is a muni by ownership, and one of the best bang-buckers around. Cascata is one of those borderline truly great plays not too many places sport.

This forum is not alive. We get more golf chatter at vegasmessageboard.com weekly than happens here in six months. lol
I would like to play Cascata. Maybe I will try it this summer if I think I can survive the hellish heat.

Thanks for the feedback. I want to try Cascata too while the weather is nice.

I will check out that other forum you mentioned as well. Thanks.
