Pool ideas in January

Looking for a nice hotel with a nice outdoor pool to lay around and have drinks (pools facing the sun). Six days sometime in January 2014. A good bar with music in the hotel would be a plus. MGM is out, when I was there the pool was in the hotels shadow the whole time. Paris was OK, but I did not like the hotel.

I know weather can vary, but I will be coming from an area that is -20 to 20 degrees with 50-70 mph winds: so even 50 degrees is warm. I have been to Vegas 20 times in in 35 years (usually mid-February) and have had to wear a coat only once during the day.

Probably will travel solo, main reason for visit is to relax, veg, and have fun. Any other differing ideas on other places to go besides Vegas are welcome.
