LVA Room and Show Deals - Beta

We're in the process of developing a new LVA-branded money-saving service for booking hotel rooms, show tickets, airfare, and more, and we'd really appreciate your input. Even if you're not in the market for a room or show right now, please take the time to simply check out the interface and our current offers and tell us what you like and don't like about it. We're all ears! Thanks.

The top of the page and the offers under them are confusing: you have a listing for:

Aria, ballys, monte carlo, paris, and excalibur Then you have a link for more hotel deals.

Under that is a listing for: mgm, caesers, mandalay bay, harrah's, and flamingo. Very confusing...

On the front page you start with a $49 offer from the MGM then 2 higher offers from other places, the last 2 offers were for $39. I would go with a listing that was either low to high or high to low. Under the booking, once you go to the hotel site, the offer code does not get passed over. People may miss that and you might get some complaints on it.
Thanks for the input Tony. We will look into changing the way the front page is organized. If you could explain where the promo code is not getting passed over, i would appreciate it. Most of the time it does get passed over but it is not obvious and that also can cause confusion. Thanks Again!
I like the page. Very clean.

I like that the hotels and shows under "other" are alphabetized, because I usually have an idea where I want to stay and shows I want to see. Alphabetized, I can find them more quickly.

I didn't like that when I clicked an MGM property, it loaded with sudden blaring loud music and the manic flashing pictures. I nearly jumped out of my chair. The little sound button didn't work to turn it down. I finally figured out to use the button on left to stop the show. Perhaps that was MGM's doing rather than LVA's, because I noticed that didn't happen when I clicked on a Harrah's deal.

I chose MGM and used the default date of march 27 and 1 guest for a 1 day stay.

Once you have clicked on book direct. It goes to a check availability page on MGM's web site. Near the bottom is the promo code and travel agent code.

Candy,
Thanks for the feedback, we feel that most people know where they want to stay and thats why we stuck with the alphabetized list. The search can filter other ways if needed. As far as the mgm noise, we can't help that much. It seems southwest airlines and some of the shows do the same type of thing.

Tony,
Just about all of the MGM deals populate the promo code automatically when you get launched into their booking engine. Typically the title of the deal on the site will be the same as the title on the page indicating you are on that code. Another way to tell is to look in the link field and you will see host=promo&code=xxxx meaning xxxx would be the promo code you clicked to go for. I will update the home page tomorrow to reflect the prices of the lowest promo code available for that property. The hotels switch the prices on a daily basis, we try our best to keep up with them. In the next revision are going include a notify us button next to the promo code that will send us an email to check it out and see if there may be a problem.

If you are still seeing an issue with the promo code not loading in the mgm page, please include what browser you are using and version of it. Also please include the promo code which you are trying to use.

Thanks again, great feedback!
Everything looks good to me and I applaud LVA's efforts to save us money. I am mainly a person who likes the airfare/hotel packages but honestly I am a bit wary of booking thru third parties such as Priceline as I had a bad experience with them a few years ago.

Normally I book with the airlines directly and they are usually cheaper than Priceline, Expedia ect. But I do trust LVA and if I could find a better deal using their service then I may try them.

Everything looks nice to me, especially the black background.

However after drilling down to "see all",
I feel that the extra wide border on each side will probably end up being littered with ads (hopefully not).

If so, any ads in those wide columns (totaling almost 45% of the screen) will clutter and complicate the now nice crisp look.

........ Just my opinion.

THANKS, Rick
Rick,
The clean look was a big part of what we were going for. Inevitably there will be some ads on the pages, however, we are going to do our best to keep them clean and not clutter the pages.

Thanks!!
I think this is really nice....may be a nice touch to have expirations date at the front page.....would be nice to know if it is a short time promo before you dig into it.
