Anyone in town Nov 15 - 19 2020?

Dave, thanks for the comments. Maybe you can help me??? I consider myself a standard slot player but do enjoy sitting at the bar playing VP and getting the free drinks.  However I am sure I am not good at VP so I have been "practising" on a free online trainer. (I did get a RF at Ballys the last time I was in Vegas)

IYO where can I find the best VP machines in Vegas with a decent bar area?

Any suggestions?

Terry, to answer your specific question, unfortunately, in casinos, the worst VP pay schedules are at the bars. Non-casino bars and restaurants in Vegas that have VP also tend to have pretty horrible VP.

For that reason, I've tended to avoid even looking at bartop VP schedules. However, I do have a bit of intelligence to offer you: downtown, the upstairs bar at the Four Queens has some excellent progressive VP machines, and some (not all) of the El Cortez's bartop VP is pretty decent.

My favorite play, however, is at Main Street Station. They make their own beer, and it's great. The VP is better than most. They also have a scratch card promo where you get a small prize for natural four of a kinds.

Furthermore, I've found their drink service at the machines to be very good. So you don't need to actually play at the bar. They have one bank of 100% machines, so if you play them well, you're gambling and drinking for free! (Actually, if you play 10/7 Double Bonus, with the scratch cards, you're making a few bucks an hour at .25 denominations! And...free beer!) Per VpFree, it's one bank of 12 machines near the south valet entrance.

MSS 9/6? BOYEEEE!

9/6 at the California on the floor, overlooking the lower craps pit.I had a very good run at the BJ table.

Need faster drink service? Sit close to the cocktail service area. The Downtown Grand had the best drink service because I was right next to that station. There, the VP is pretty lame.Craps was good.  BJ was terrible with constant shufflers. They don't do anything right at that casino, but the rooms are great.

EZ comps at the El Cortez and the Boyd properties. Don't forget The Plaza. You coupons can be "validated" WAY back there in the casino.

I hope that the MSS will open for 2021~! I'll stay at the CAL,but my VP play will be at The Boar's head Bar!

Just a quick walk across the sky bridge.Grab a donut on the way.

Good luck and HAVE FUN!

Kevin & Dave...

Really do appreciate your comments and suggestions. These will help me organize my trip to visit casino's I have never been in before. Should be interesting.

As stated previously my wife does not like Fremont area (Except the light show) so on previous Vegas visits we have been "Strip people", GVR, Red Rock, Rio, M and South Point.

I am actually looking forward to playing downtown and checking out the new Circa.

By the sounds of it I am probably going to have to get a cab to/from Fremont so I can drink a few beers while I am winning all this money on the VP machines....

The Vue Bar at "the D" has some of the best VP in the city.   8/5 Bonus Poker with progressives on the Royal, Sraight Flush, and 4OAK.      Couple that with instant drink service.   Cant beat it.   It can be popular at night and hard to get a seat.    Daytime is easy.

PJ - thanks for the suggestions. I will definately be going to The D during a morning/early afternoon session to try out the 8/5 Bonus Poker. I have been practising on my PC so I hope I do not make too many mistakes.

I'll let you know how I did in my TR

Dave....I did not make my trip in November due to various reasons but would certainly be up for any meeting next year. Let's work on some possible dates.

Happy Xmas to you and your family

Dave, we cancelled our Christmas time trip as well.  BFF was recovering from feeling crappy.  I was coming down with it, not critical but something.  Husband had already declared he was out.  All signs pointed to staying home.  Turns out to be a good decision for several reason.  Rebooked it for March, but that's iffy too.

Frontier is starting low fare non-stops from here to Vegas.  Could be crazy cheaper than SW even counting the add-on fees.  Non-stop is non-stop, our priority.  Will see.  Anybody fly Frontier at all?  We never have.

I flew Frontier some time ago when they were offering introductory fares---from Oakland to Reno, $20 each way! Then I took a flight from Oakland to Denver several years later---that would have been about 2005--and that was $129 roundtrip! I don't know if their business model is still "crazy cheap for introductory fares," but it sounds like it might be for their new Vegas routes, at least.

As far as I can recall, it was no different from any other airline. They used plain old plane planes, we all sat facing forward, I was directly behind the obligatory screaming baby, and we got free cokes. We were briefed pre-takeoff on how best to safely exit the aircraft if it slammed into the side of a mountain at 500 miles per hour. The gate where we disembarked was about 3/4 as far from Denver as the gate in Oakland where we had boarded. So, net gain.

For some reason, I can't seem to disassociate the airline from the now-defunct identically-named Vegas casino. If an airline offered fullpay deuces wild, I'd definitely be on board with that, so to speak.

Thanks, Kevin.   Glad your Frontier flights weren't terrible except for the crying baby.
