Are Member Meets a thing of the past??

No MM in months. Not 1 response to RECVP request for 1 on 3/2/14, nor Ozz at the Cosmos! Last 1 in Vegas was Thanksgiving. I'm wondering why the MM has died? Is it less readership here at LVA than in the good ol days? Do folks have so little time to gather when they get to Vegas? I am curious what others have to say!

Here's to hoping that this fine LVA tradition gets a boost from some one these boards in the future!.
Hi Champ,

I'm certainly all for them if I'm in LV when one is happening and I will always try to set one up if I'm coming to LV.

I think it may be that some people are coming to LV less because of the not great economy and maybe people do not have as much disposable income as they previously had.

Also, maybe people are just not coming when others are there or people are not announcing when they might be coming because some people may not want to bother with meeting up with people and taking away from their limited vacation/playing time.

But I definitely like meeting up with fellow LV lovers and hopefully to exchange war stories and suggestions and ideas to hopefully make our visits better and/or to save us some money!

Maybe because there is so much venom on this forum that some people don't really care to meet anyone? I do enjoy the meets when in town.Istill remember meeting you Champ at the MGM during March madness several yers ago.
I've found that my problem is not having enough time. This coming visit my wife is at a tourney at the Orleans and I'm at one at the Paris. Than we have her high school friend coming in from California who I've got rooms for. I have enough trouble just fitting in my 10-12 hours a day of gambling.
But we have been to several and always enjoy them and try to make them...but there hasn't been any that coincided with our last 4 trips.

Venom? I didn't think that there was any (except for in the Free For All section -- which is why I'm almost never in that section). But in the Paid Boards, I certainly don't see much of any venom -- unless I'm missing something (unless you maybe are refering to a couple of posters).

Ah yes my friend. I remember it well. My 2nd member meet ever! Its always good so when you talk with folks, via LVA, you can picture the person you are "talking" with. Captain has a point there. Once my friend/family get in town I'm usually tied up with them ...and they haven't been to any MM (other than Lil sis aka FFLOWERS). There was one during March Madness (via another website) that I wanted to try and make at the "D" but the craps table had other plans for me.

There was also a March Madness "Meet and greet" put together by a young lady on TripAdvisor, but she P.M. me 2 days before to say that she wouldn't be coming to Vegas. I probably should have went to the Seahorse bar anyway to see if anyone showed up.

I remember my very 1st MM at the Palms which was organized by Charles Mayfield. He was as funny in person as he was on these boards (haven't heard from him in years). About 8 of us met at Guardinos (I think that was the name back then) and used some 50% coups. Then had a VP tourney where everyone put up a $1.00. I didn't win. I can't help but remember that last goodbye with Charles on the strip as he went one way...and I went another. I miss that guy. I hope he is doing well!

Champ: I miss you and I haven't even met you!

It really does not matterwhich board it's on,venom is venom.People see some posters verbally abuse each other and say "do I really want to meet these people?"I know I'm not particularly fond of rude people.
