November 12- 20 ish

After not being there for over a year and a half, we are READY! Got tickets for Donny Osmond and Santana, will maybe do a few more shows while there, just waiting for more things to open up. It's looking good, though, and we are so excited. I turn 60 in November and this will be my birthday trip! Will be staying at a Caesars property, just need to see what our host can do for us. Would love to see you there!

Your plans sound awesome!

Have booked flights for SEMA, which appears to be on track for Nov. 2-5.  This is husband's one and only Vegas-related passion, but good for a trip.   He wanders the SEMA landscape, I do anything else!

That's a blueprint for an ideal marriage. One spouse has an abiding passion for something the other spouse could not care less about. They peck each other on the cheek, part ways, and seven hours later, meet for dinner, where they talk about anything but what the one spouse did. If that's the husband, the wife can indulge in hours of consequence-free shopping (or, of course, gambling).

SEMA is a car parts convention, right? Are you sure you don't want to accompany your husband as he wanders happily among the chrome-plated exhaust headers and tiger-striped seat covers?

Women who Love and put up with Gearheads are a Special Breed!   Mine has been putting up with my passion/hobby/career  for 45+ years, and she could give a damn about shiny chrome things. But God Bless her ,she spent a lot of time wandering car Shows, Swap Meets, Drag Strips etc.    Candy I'll be out for SEMA this year with my crew.  Unfortunatly Mrs. Bob can't travel with me anymore due to health issues :-(     we're going to be at the Desert Club on Koval.

Yes, Kevin, automotive aftermarket (I still don't know what that means) stuff.   Admission is only for folks in the business, pay a fee, get a pass, etc.  Not wives/kids, etc. though I'm sure some do get in.  It is a "really big shew", as Ed Sullivan would say.

Bob, sorry your Mrs. can't come along.   Actually it is my husband who will probably hang it up before I do.  Back pain, among other ailments.  Takes the fun out of doing all those things that involve walking around.  His little black book is all doctors' numbers.

Do what you can while you can, I say.  It won't last forever.

Walk? Why do that when you can ROLL!

I rented a wheelchair for my Reno/Vegas trip and it was easy with a broken leg. Ripped on oxycodone and beer.Doing Joey Chitwood stunts in the casinos on 2 wheels, building up enough  static electricity to shock anyone that comes near me.Ground out on the machines, holding a quarter.I could throw 1/2" long sparks!

Sorry for the cocktail ladies that side- stepped 4 feet.

Bob and Dave in Seattle and anyone who cares, since last my last post (June 15) husband had a spinal fusion (ten forks down), twisted his foot resulting in two small broken bones, then had surgery to repair his right thumb torn but not broken following a fall last week.  Thumb in a big wrap/cast, most inconvenient.  The foot isn't a problem.  And he can walk just fine.  Problem is pain related to the spinal fusion, which IMO contributed to the other incidents (translation: pain pills plus whiskey periodically).  So whether we go to Vegas at all is a long shot.  SEMA is a longer shot.  He has lost interest.  Maybe a scooter?
