What Happens At An LVA Member Meet

People many times ask and wonder what happens at LVA Member Meets and so I'll now tell you my perspective on this.

At a Member Meet:

1). Fellow Las Vegas lovers get to finally put a face to the different handles that post;

2). These people exchange information about LV and what goes on and how to best go about saving money while doing things;

3). They may also exchange gaming war stories;

and 4). At least some of the attendees may after the meet go play some casino games together and continue talking.

It's nice and I've never had a bad time at an LVA Meet!

Thanks for the info. Hope you make it!
Great analysis there Coach! I fondly remember my first MM at Gardunos at the Palms (probably 7/8 years ago). Charles Mayfield (I miss him) put it together. After we ate he, Charles, would have a VP tourney. Everyone put up $5.00 for a winner take all, and we hammered away for 5 mins. He won the first 1! I can't remember who won the 2nd (a year or so later)!

I definitly remember when I met my 1st VP Coach at the Chicago Brewery (some years ago) at the 4 Queens. Great location and good munchies ( I think BillRyan selected it). A relaxed atmosphere and the location was easy to get to!!
We met champster and his sister fflowers at Gardunos at one time and it was fun for all. We also went to meet at Caesars. There was about 20 of us there including Bigfus. Great fun. Wish there were more of them when we go in December.

Darcie, December is usually pretty dead except for the rodeo. Jo-Ann and I like meets and will be at the Mirage Dec 16th-20, let us know if you will be in town then and want to put a small meet together.
Hey Group,

When I was recently visiting LV, at Plaza Casino, one of the LVA members (subscribers)recognized me from a previous meet and thanked me for the information that I provide to the group.

I'm very happy to help the group in whatever way I can -- especially with good and useful information.

And I hope to meet up with more LVAers in the future!

Been to quite a few meets over the years.Also had the privlege of meeting Champster at a meet at MGM during march madness several years ago.Always a good time.
Let's not forget the sex that frequently ensues!!
Apparently I've been going to different meets then Ken but he must be right, he wrote the book on it (and everything else).

I am reminded of a trip a couple of years ago. Out the door at 6:00am to catch a flight out of Atlanta. At the airport I grabbed a $12.99 biscuit and coffee. Land in Vegas at noon but my stomach is still on EST 3:00pm and empty. I meet Vegas newbie friends at McCarren then pickup the rental car and take them to Harrah's and check them in on my comp. Then to Mirage, check myself in and drop off bags before hoofing down to the Seahorse Lounge at CP for a meet.

It was a large and lively meet and I can't remember who was there. Perhaps it was the large potent martini on an empty stomach. As I started to leave a LVAer who I hadn't seen in a couple of years remembered that he owed me a martini from some long ago meet. Just to be polite I had another large and potent martini before staggering back to the Mirage.

Have I mentioned that I haven't had anything to eat? Inside the Mirage I got a wonderful burger and a beer at the gourmet burger joint then found my way to the room and collapse. Seconds later the cell phone rings, my friends at Harrah's wanted me to drive them downtown to eat at someplace they read about. Not no but hell no.

All of this is to say, Ken if you were at that meet and got lucky congratulations! I don't remember and can't rat you out. What happens in Vegas and all that!
We had a Seahorse Lounge meet one December, with NoahCat (no, we didn't shag! lol)

We attended a lot of meets over the years, which can happen with a place that was (once) as collegial as this and given the rapidity with which we made return visits to Vegas. Some were small, four or five folks, some were big ... MOAM at 777. I kinda miss those days. Even had some folks show up unannounced at my big 40th bash; that was a nice touch.

And we've had a lot of great meals with some of the chowhounds we've met here!
