When I first started betting on sports on a somewhat regular("professional") basis, I bet 49 games during the first weekend of March Madness(annual trip to Vegas) earlier this year. I went 17 - 32. It wasn't a lot of money, but the hit to the ego was substantial.
Much like after my ill-fated foray into "professional" baseball prognosticating that followed this past summer, that March Madness experience actually made me more determined to figure this sports betting profession out. It's funny how such discouraging results can actually strengthen one's resolve to get good at betting on sports.
The NBA and the NFL were not good to me, but so far the NHL and NCAAF have at least been profitable. Emphasis on so far! The most important thing I've learned is that I know very little about betting on sports professionally. However, I am learning one bet at a time.
