Anyone get a room upgrade based on tier status?

Hi all, I was rated "gold" in the new M life club. I read one of the benefits is a room upgrade based on availability. Was just wondering if anyone who is gold/plat has had an experience with being upgraded based on their tier status.

I think you will find they are "sold out" when you ask

I'm gold, and on my stay last month at Aria, I got upgraded to a Strip view room at check-in without asking. Didn't make much difference to me one way or the other -- I don't spend much time looking out the window -- but I suppose that counts as a "complimentary upgrade".

Yes, upgrade is a very vague term. Since most hotels have many levels of what most would call a regular room, they can upgrade you and it is NOT a suite.

On a recent visit to Beau Rivage, I got a Plat upgrade from city view to water view. Same room otherwise. They did offer to let me pay $50 to upgrade to suite which we should have done.

I just recently asked about the upgrade, flashed my gold card and got a high floor strip view at MGM. The best view at MGM is Even 400's, high floor.
