Coffee

I really enjoy my morning coffee but do not want to bother with room service. Had a $10 mailer and a $10 birthday mailer from JCPenney. I used it to buy a four cup coffee maker with a grand total on my charge card of $01. Two of our night will be at the Cosmo and sitting on the terrace with a cup of coffee is too good to pass up. Now I am wondering if any other crazy person does this? And if you do was it ok ?
I should add we will be staying at the Bellagio and Venetion too. Have cup will travel haha
Yes indeed- for a long time we traveled with a small four cup coffee maker. That was when we lived in California and could drive to Las Vegas.
Now we fly in from Iowa and we have cut down to carry on only for baggage so the coffee maker stays in the cupboard (right behind the bread maker).

I do scope out the closest coffee to wherever we are staying and commit their hours to memory.

Enjoy,

Paul and Sonya

Since whenever most hotels in LV removed the coffee makers, we have carried a one cup coffee maker with us. Even when we carried on! We stuffed it into a backpack or in the over head bag. We are not that cheap--although frugal would qualify--but on some days we just like to get up a little later, hang around the room and have coffee and a cookie for breakfast, then have a larger, late buffet lunch. If we go down stairs to get a Starbucks, we don't have a re-fill, we have to get dressed, and I have to stand in line with the yuppies to be over-charged for coffee.

It would embarrass our kids, so dont tell them---a couple of them already look at us like they think we should be in a "home". I have read on here and other boards that several people do the same, and have even read that some buy a cheap maker when they arrive and just leave it when they head home.

To each his/her own.

We don't carry a coffee pot with us but we hit Walmart when we get there and get a 12 cup pot usually for around $10. I bring coffee, filters and creamers from home and our travel mugs and we are set. We are usually there for 8 days and love to sit around the room in the morning and watch the news, wake up slowly. Getting dressed and having to walk a mile to get coffee is not fun!
Yeah, I agree. My wife and I have purchased a cheapo coffee pot from Walmart and left it as a tip for housekeeping when we leave. We've only done it a few times, but for those folks who are going to be in town for 4+ nights, it's way cheaper to buy a $10 pot than pay for two cups of coffee from Starbucks each day. Plus it's a nice treat for the housekeeper who cleans your room on the day you've checked-out! #PayItForward
We have always traveled with a one cup coffee maker, two cups, coffee pod, sweetener and cream. Yes frugal is a good term. It doesn't take up that much room and actually travels in a cooler bag that becomes useful for ice in the room. I would hate to have to get up, clean up and head downstairs for a cup of coffee. When I go downstairs it is to have a screwdriver in the casino.
We got one of those 1 cup that many hotels have now. We save the bags from other hotel visits. Like others, we just want coffee in our PJ's in the morning without any hassle. By teh way, we bought my Mom one of those as she does not want to make a full pot at home. Gets a case of coffee/bags for birthday.
