I have been staying @ MGM for over 10 years, have NEVER paid extra and have always gotten a smoke free room facing Hooters.
"early check in guarantee" between 9a-3p for only $10. so if i check in between 9a-3p i will b charges and EXTRA $10!!!

Just when you thought Vegas couldn't get any more ridiculous,,,easy solution...boycott this and any other resort fee hotel ...period...they'll get the message. Of course that won't happen though, sheep get slaughtered. When I try to book these places, if they don't remove the resort fee at time of booking I thank them and mention that is exactly why I won't stay there. I usually make it a point to tell them I'm on a mission to make sure that everyone else I know boycotts the resort fee hotels. I;m sure they couldn't give a flyin f #ck, but I'll bet dollars to donuts if enough of us did it they would. I'd even bet the comps would start flying out to the post office again faster than you can say A-D-E-L-S-O-N. Maybe it's just me.

Speaking of which, got an interesting email about gas prices and how to affect them. In effect , it was the top two companies named,,,the emailer asks that you forward to 10 people and to not use those two companies for gas for any reason for a year. Use their competitors. Makes a bit of sense to me and I'm doing it for no other reason than to say I tried to help make a difference in a tiny way. My car doesn't care much which gas station I fill up at and frankly I'm tired of paying $5 bucks a gallon. I remember the uproar when it went over $1/ltr,,2 yrs or so later its at 1.35/ltr. Makes me wonder how much I'm really making overall on my Imperial Oil shares. If it isn't over 35% in two years, pretty sure I'm a loser. (i know i know whatever it is if higher than purchase price is more than anyone else not holding the shares gets) Just sayin...PS- One of the gasoline companies I am boycotting I own shares in, sadly I have no faith in the sheep. GO GAS STOCKS!!!

RESORT FEES SUCK!!

Mirage went from 15 to $20. I called about my July reservation and asked if the fee was factored into the total cost I had on my confirmation, and he said it was, but the add'l $5 increase was not. Told him I reserved before the increase went into effect and he said they were still charging it.

Said that was wrong and cancelled my reservation there on the spot. He couldn't have cared less.

So I booked at the less fancy, but still has a kick-ass pool, at the Flamingo, for about $400 less. That's extra money for a show, food, and gambling. don't like Harrah's casinos, but I can deal with it. so long, MGM. you can take your new "M Life" program and shove it...

That exactly what I was told when I was planning on staying at the Mirage in July for my honeymoon. I had a one-bedroom tower suite booked. Not only could the guarantee a strip view, I was going to get charged the higher resort fee rate. I was even offering to pay an additional fee for the guaranteed view. No dice.

When I called and cancelled, I asked for a manager to contact me.

I had rebooked at the Cosmo, for $115/night more, in a wrap around terrace suite, with a guaranteed premium view. I got a special rate at Cosmo for $315/night because of it; current rate for my dates is $440/night,

When a manager contacted me, they were offering me everything I wanted. I politely said, "if this was the case earlier, you would not have lost the reservation."

I have stayed at a lot of MGM properties in the past, but never again. Hotel fees are becoming worse than airline fees...

Wonder when MGM will add a fee of $10 for a roll of toilet paper or use of the TV remote?
