I read on another message board site that Bellagio's Fontana Bar is closing in May. Allegedly it is going to be turned in to an ultra-lounge. No more live bands. Has anyone read about this elsewhere? The only other reference I found is a wikipedia reference to Sam Nazarian. Here is an exerpt:
"Under Nazarian’s leadership, SBE has earned a reputation for consistently delivering high-end nightlife experiences. In 2006 the uber-exclusive Hyde Lounge opened on the famed Sunset Strip and today SBE has added new Hyde locations at Staples Center and Mammoth Mountain. These venues continue to see a high level of popularity and celebrity patronage, as well as being frequently visited by the characters of HBO's Entourage.[9] Nazarian made an appearance as himself greeting the main characters of the show in the episode "No Cannes Do". SBE has entered into an agreement to take over the space currently operating as the Fontana Bar at The Bellagio - which will close for renovation in May 2011 and reopen after an extensive remodel as a yet-to-be-named Ultra Lounge."
I take what I read on wiki with a grain of salt however. If this is true it's a HUGE disappointment. Almost every visit we stopped in there for drinks on the patio to watch the fountains or see Jimmy Hopper and recently Dian Diaz.
