How do you like the Mandalay Bay?

The only negative about Mandalay Bay is the location, unless you just plan on hanging around Mandalay.

I also agree with this comment. It is away from everything. But I am driving to Vegas, so I will have my truck with me. I usually just drive to all the different hotels/casinos and just valet.

I have loved to stay at Mandalay Bay for years. Unfortunately with the poor blackjack and video poker schedules I have to stay elsewhere for comped rooms. I did recently stay there (and paid for the room) and I remembered how much I liked it. I always get floor 17 or 18 pool side view as that is the first stop that particular elevator makes. That way when I get on the elevator or when I am going down the elevator from the room there are no other stops. I also like the minus 5 degrees bar (there is one in the Monte Carlo too) if you get one of those tourist "yardsticks" you can upgrade the booze for I think $5 and then it really packs a wallup! Also you can rent a plush beach chair at the Moorea Beach Club at the Mandalay Bay Pool and get an umbrella too. Cheaper than a Cabana but will still cost you some money.

Mandalay Bay is a beautiful casino/resort! The casino is well laid out and the color scheme is very pleasing. The pool/beach is magnificent! The rooms are very spacious with oversized bathrooms and great complimentary toiletries. In my opinion, Mix, Lupo by Wolfgang Puck, Charlie Palmer Steak, Noodle Shop and Burger Bar are some of Mandalay Bay's best restaurants. Sometimes you can find discounted gift cards for the Noodle Shop at www.restaurant.com. Very comfortable beds.

If you want to get around to the strip and downtown and efficiently get a 3 day Duece Bus pass. You can buy them at a Kiosk machine located in Front of Slots of Fun Casino, MGM Grand Casino, Las Vegas Convention Center and the South Strip Terminal which is South of the Mandalay Bay Casino. Good on any Deuce bus any direction. Ask for a RTC Pocket Guide that will tell you the different routes. This bus will take you up and down the strip as well as to Old Vegas/Fremont.

I forgot to mention, we did stay at Mandalay Bay back when I posted this up. We went back to Vegas again at the end of November 2011 as well. We stayed at THEhotel, which was amazing.

Thanks for the info raaajaaa, but I think I would rather drive my own vehicle through Vegas than be on that stinky bus full of drunks. Last I heard, a buddy of mine was on one of those buses and a dude puked all over some other people

Rode on the Deuce my first and second trip and never again. You made a wise decision.

I always enjoy staying at Mandalay Bay - just don't like gambling there.
