How strict is Mandalay Bay about check in time?

Check in time says 3, but we will be there around noon probably. I've yet to have a property in Las Vegas not let me check in if we are early. Anyone ever have any problems?
Unless they are swamped you should not have any problem. I usually arrive before noon and have never been told to wait at any Vegas hotel.
We checked in on a sold out Saturday night last October around noon. We aren't picky people though and didn't request a strip view. She did give us a choice of low floor strip or high floor airport, pool. We chose the 29th floor facing pool and airport which worked great for us. I've seen the strip lots of times.
We have also worked it out where even if they couldn't get us into a room right away we got generic keys to use the pool and put our luggage with the bell desk. Our favorite in 17th floor and above pool side view. That way the first stop up (and the last stop down) that elevator bank goes to is the 17th floor. Much quicker. Can't recommend the buffet but the Cafe Raffles is good. Also this last trip we went to the Hussong's Cantina. They had a Mariachi Band that was hilarious. They played rock songs like Journey and even Lady Ga Ga along with traditional stuff. First time I ever wanted a Marichi band to stick around. Food was good and it was a birthday dinner so of course the drinks flowed. Also try Minus 5 degrees for those yardstick drinks and ask for extra shots in them quite reasonably priced for a tourist drink.

Glad to hear they've improved their customer service where early check-in is concerned. I've only stayed there twice both times for a convention held at MB. These stays were 2 and 3 years ago. Both stays, the check-in staff was nasty and rude. There was only my party of 2 and another couple trying to check-in at the time. Basically we were told come back at 4pm and not a minute sooner. I would of thought getting a couple of rooms checked in early would take a little bit of pressure off when the mob of people showed up at 4pm to check-in.

Other hotels haven't had a problem with early check-in if rooms were available, but if not we've been told politely to come back in an hour or two and a room should be available. Or as raaajaaa said given us generic keys so we knew we were checked-in, just didn't have a room assigned yet.

I stayed comped at Caesars now and get to MB easily on that frontage street(Frank Sinatra drive maybe) between the 15 and the back of the hotels. Valet parking is a lot less than paying for a room at MB.
Raisin, like I said we had no problem checking in early but when I had the nerve to ask if they had any sort of coupons available, that's when she looked at me like I was crazy to ask such a thing.
Thanks all. Driving through w/our kids, just staying one night. Just want to get the kids to the pool as soon as possible. I love that pool area, and I know they will, too!
