MGM Grand Tower King vs Monte Caarlo deluxe

Mixing and matching comp offers, and deciding between these two.

I am traveling alone, mid week, no car, distance to casino not important.

Priorities:

Clean, nonsmoking
Quiet
Comfortable bed.

Will probably visit the exercise room and the pool at least once.

I have never stayed at the MGM, and have had the Monaco Suite at MC.
I never stayed in a standard room at MC.

Your opinions, comments appreciated.
Solo, midweek, without a car is my favorite way to visit Las Vegas, I know you will enjoy it.

MGM is one of my favorite properties but it has begun a complete renovation. I don't know what conditions are like presently. Farmer75 has posted that he will be staying there this week, perhaps he can give us an update when he returns.

Monte Carlo has a reputation of having thin walls with little sound proofing but I have had a noisy room there once. It overlooked the pool during Spring Break. Who would have thought dull-ole MC would be a Spring Break destination? MC is also convenient to free trams that can take you up to Bellagio or down to MB.

Of the two, MGM has much better exercise and pool facilities. As for gambling, restaurants, lounges etc: when staying on the South end I treat all of the MLIFE as one property.
I have never stayed at MGM, but we have at the MC. We liked it Very nice staff, painless check in/out. The rooms like others have said (and I was fore warned) have thin walls. I can hear full conversations on both sides of my room. We had a strip view which was ok (city center blocks everything). Oh yeah, we had the deluxe strip view room. Hope this helps.
Not sure when your trip is but I think the renovation at MGM is scheduled to be done by late spring.
I think they are taking 2 floors out of service at a time.I could be wrong but I don't think the public areas are effected now.

I have stayed in a Monaco suite which is not really a suite just a larger room with sitting area and thin walls.
MGM all the way!!

MGM Grand. Monte Carlo is a ghost town mid-week when I go and MGM Grand has average rooms but also has a great poker room, sportsbook and Sigma Derby.
