MGM Master card.....

Just read an interesting article on the "Vegas Bright" website concerning MGM properties to soon offer a Mlife master card. The article mentions that the cardholder will automatically be upgraded to Pearl status. Other benefits will include....FREE SELF PARKING, priority check-in and a buffet line pass. Sounds like this card will have similar benefits to CET's total rewards Visa card program. I don't gamble a whole lot at the MGM properties, but the offer of free parking has perked my interest in maybe applying for one of their cards.
I just got the email about this card. It does say that Self Parking will be complimentary with the card and NO Annual Fee.
Just signed up. Approval was within 30 seconds online. 7-10 days I'll have the card. I'm MLife Pearl(dropped from Gold last year) already but not sure I'll get to Vegas this year. No annual fee, might as well get it.
I also received my card, but I could not activate it online. I then checked the feedback on this bank and read the bad reviews about customer service and online problems. I will not activate this card.

i was going to get the card. what's wrong with it?
Interesting.....There was some negative posts about the customer service issues with the bank that handles the CET total rewards Visa card when they first rolled out that program. I have had the CET's Visa card for several years now and have never had a problem with customer service. They have frozen my card a couple of times (once while I was in Vegas) on suspicious purchase behavior, but a quick phone call from me and the problem was solved. I think I will go ahead and apply for the MGM card; I plan on giving the Luxor some play in September in hopes of generating an offer of a free room for a night or two for a planned trip in December for a conference at MB. Might be worth it just to avoid the parking fees.
The Hyatt Visa gives a tier match up to gold with MGM.
Better deal for a better card (for me).

The APR is very high.( 19% ) I took it anyway, but I am careful to pay it off each month, or roll over the balance.
I wouldn't use it for large purchases if you are going to carry a balance.
The problem with CET for me is you cannot pay it automatically with auto pay. You must sign on to pay it monthly.
the card extends points and tier points beyond 30 Sept. haven't found out how long. However you earn points by using the card on food, gas, and more with mgm/mirage partners so it's like gambling in any of their partners. just check out the paper work that comes with the card and the websites. will be there in DEC for NFR will add more after talking with host. Really the easiest thing is call marketing at your favorite property.
