MGM Resorts....I think it's Turning into a Bad Version of CET

I could be swayed by a couple MGM props, but my offers have gone down, down.
At this rate, Bell will see me only when the Conservatory changes themes. lol

Just when I thought things were turning around....

I have a "Buzz" offer from MGM for May-July for three nights in a suite, 2 free show tickets and $300 in F & B credit.

Barb had the same offer and used her's earlier this month. That prompted an email that said that she could use it again and when she directly inquired, they told her specifically that it was good for once a month. So, my idea was the use it for June and then see if I too would get the same "extension" to use it again in July as Barb did.

I have biz travel next week and vacation after that so I thought on the spur of the moment we'd try to book it for tonight for the next three nights. I called the VIP services number listed as my host working tonight and we wanted to get it booked and perhaps have lunch as part of the offer.

They needed to call me back as the rep was having computer issues. She just called me back to say that she checked with a host on duty and they were unable to book this offer due to my recent play activity. I pressed her to explain and she chose her words carefully and simply said that she was unable to book it but perhaps my host could.

Typical BS....why send me an offer and then make it impossible to book?

I texted my host (whom we happened to have dinner and drinks with last night until pretty late this morning) and I'm sure we'll get it resolved but once again, what's the purpose of providing offers and not honoring them?

We're friends so I would never do anything to compromise her position but I also have a Summer offer that's good system-wide and I intend to book this at Aria or Bellagio and give them jack all worth of play.

They continue to churn marketing people and this is part of the reason this stuff happens. Total lack of consistency. How else can someone explain how you get comped suite offers at Bellagio but $29/nt. offers from Excal? Freakin amazing.

I'll provide an update as to how this turns out. It's not like I need a place to stay here and missing a few meals wouldn't be the worst thing but it's really the principal of things.

Right behind ya...........O'Malley...........as you been called on the Other side. lol

Seems like a no-brainer. Why the heck the jumping thru hoops with "an offer"
Isn't that what "an offer" is? Why can't they just Book it ?

Booked by host so all set. Shouldn't have to be this way. If my play doesn't qualify for an offer, don't send it to me. I didn't call and ask for a room. They sent an offer and I accepted it. Proof once again that whoever gives casinos kudos for being smart may need to reconsider.

As to "change in play". I think that COULD be a reasonable issue. Many offers have that language. Meaning, if they sit down on Sept 1 and look at your recent/past play and decide you are worth throwing a great offer to get you to come back, then they send it.

But if you call in Nov and they look at your play between Sep and Nov and it sucks, then they just changed what you are worth to them, so...

I can accept that if it was a snail mail offer. However, this was never sent to me by mail....just sitting on my mLife online account. If they want to "rescind" an offer, just delete it from my online account. That's the beauty of what a system like this should be.....dealing in virtually real time.

Their own staff accept that the new mLife system is a screw up.....in this economy no one will bark too loud internally so they just go along and preach the party line. The people I know personally will confirm off the record that it's a train wreck.

Sadly, some companies create their own downfall by not allowing staff to speak up. Mlife has not only policy/program issues, but very serious IT issues. More than once I have watched people try to use the Kiosks and after waiting forever, they just walk away.
Our roommate made a good point....

She was signing into her online mLife account and under the "Offers" list it simply said something like "You have no online offers at this time". She sent Barb an email bitching about it and Barb told her that it's a system screw up....you need to sign out and then sign back in. This of course produced a list of offers.

Her point? She said that if she hadn't spoken to Barb and learned the "work around" she would have simply assumed she had no offers. How many other people might come to the same conclusion and just opt to book/play elesewhere? I never thought of the ramifications of this but I can see the merit in her comment.

FWIW, it's my understanding that the IT has been outsourced.

And since they are now paying somebody else MEGABUCKS, it must be good, right?

And, since it is outsourced, everytime somebody actually has enough balls to suggest a change, it is gonna cost them even more big bucks to get it changed. Change orders are fun!

They shoulda outsourced it to CET.
Somebody there knows how to do a web site at least.
