MyVegas-is anyone surprised?

I don't know how many of you remember WagerWorks several years ago. I remember playing, getting Bellagio buffets, and then the rewards quickly got restricted after that, and then the game was gone.

So with MyVegas, (was it January or February?), the rewards started to change and become more restricted. I plotted out the dates 90 days until the last day of our Vegas trip. Next week, woohoo! I told my husband that I just hope the game is around until our trip, but at the least I am going to try to get all the rewards I really want at that time. After that, the rewards have become less, and also restrictions to how many can be redeemed. I don't know if it is because:
A. the hotels aren't bringing in the gaming revenue they had hoped from people using rewards
B. the plan was to initially attract more people in to the game and entice them with more rewards
C. it is the summer, and maybe more visitors coming in the summer

I am just happy to have the rewards I was able to get so far. My husband and I enjoy playing the game, and will continue to do so. Many people are getting these rewards WAY easier than it would be to get a comp at these properties. I understand the frustrations, now, with spending the time to build up the points to get a specific reward, only to be restricted when the time comes to redeem. I am not surprised by all the changes though. I am just happy it is still around.

Well, we will no longer plan to redeem the hotels because now they charge the resort fee.

We'll just eat the Bellagio buffet as many times as we can before they pull it.

We ate the Bel buffet a few days ago - great. We each redeemed it while they still had the 2 fer, so we brought guests.

BTW, the birds in the greenhouse in the current conservatory display - they flit around and are reminiscent of the Lucky Birds game. Lovely.

We were able to book 2 nights at Aria and 2 nights in a Mirage Tower Suite before they started charging a resort fee. We still want to get tickets to O but can't purchase them till the end of this month since we don't go to Vegas till Sept. 21st. I'm just thrilled to get 4 nights on the Strip for free! I remember WagerWorks, we had quite a few Bellagio buffets at no cost.

I am only surprised in how long the good rewards have lasted. Have redeemed about $1000 in rewards over 2 trips, and have another $600 setup for my 4th of July trip, which seems like an awful lot of stuff just for playing a free game a few minutes a day. I was thinking it couldn't last during my first trip back in December...
