New $10 Fee to Book MGM Rooms By Phone

Yes, I called recently & that is what I was told. I hung up & finally got the on line special I was looking for.

Its the Ticketmaster effect.

Company contracts their reservation service out to somebody, who implements all the fees they can get away with.

Sadly, yes. On 6/24/2014, after making the first part of my reservation at Mirage through Casino Marketing I just asked to be connected to Hotel Reservations. While waiting I remembered seeing something on LVA about a $10 phone reservation fee at Aria. I asked the Agent who answered. After a long pause she admitted there is a $10 fee for initially booking through her. She did mention some talk that the fee might be discontinued after summer. I thanked her and reserved on-line.

The Ticketmaster effect would mean that whatever the room actually cost would have handling fees approximating 35% of the total added on. I hate Ticketmaster.
