NYNY Comp Suggestions?

Hey Gang,

I've got two nights reserved at NYNY, couldn't get MyVegas offers for my Mon/Tues night stay. I'm not at all on MRI's radar, I'm primarily a CET fanboy! Assuming that I will ask a casino host to review my play upon check-out for a possible comp-off of my room rate, what specific suggestions can you all proffer?

I've often read on the LVA boards that MRI likes table games players, CET likes VP/Slot players...is this still true?

For my VP/Slot playing friends on here, any insight as to daily coin-in you've played to reap the rewards of a host upon check-out?

Any recommendations regarding casino hosts that you really like, seem to be fair (or slightly more generous than others)?

Anything else you can think of that I'm not thinking about? Any first-hand experiences folks want to share about NYNY (specifically) or MRI (generally)?

Thanks everyone!

-Tony
I don't know NYNY, haven't played there, so my comments pertain to MRI in general.

You'll get more gambling credit by playing slots...which is the rule pretty much anywhere. Slot play earns more "points" than VP, again pretty much everywhere.

I don't know where you read that MRI "likes" table players better. You have to play large, and for 4 hours minimum, to earn comps from table play.

I have no knowledge of NYNY Hosts, but at some of the properties the people at the Players Club desk can evaluate your play at the end. That can be less intimidating than going through a Host. Or, they'll call a Host or direct you to where they hang out.

Since you are paying for your room nights (and presumably some meals), they just might take something off your charges if you've played a number of hours during your stay.

Best advice: Just play what you want, where you want, have fun, and don't sweat comps. Comps cost a lot more than what you pay for the same things, such as room nights or a buffet. If they comp off some charges, great. If not, you've already budgeted for this trip. Just enjoy yourself and don't worry about it.

Good luck!
never "play for comps". play what you will and hope for the best at the end of your stay from a host. if you feel like they did not appreciate your play, keep that in mind next time you book a Vegas trip.
