Resort fees on Comp stay

Hello
I have gotten a couple of offers recently for a couple of free nights with some free play and was wondering if anyone has stayed at a MGM property comped and were you charged the resort fee on the comped room?

Thanks
I normally stay at Excalibur and they have never charged me a resort fee on comped nights. I just booked a 3 night comp at MGM and they told me I would be responsible for the resort fee.
I have never been charged a resort fee at any MGM property on a comp.
The quickest way to lose me as a customer is to charge me a ripoff "resort" fee. Not only will I not stay there, I will never gamble there again. Rationalize ripoff "resort" fees any way you like- they are scams and just plain wrong.Essentially they give you poor value at best while padding the bottom line of the casinos. Just say "NO"!

i just booked 2 nights comp from monte carlo with 50 in free play and was told on the phone i would need to pay the resort fee. I am going to wait and see what happens but will post the outcome. I also only plan to use the 50 free play and then do my gambling at other mgm properties due to the poor video poker at monte. Worst case scenario I will use my express comps to pay resort fee, but we will see.

I agree with drmilled, I will never pay a resort fee on a comp room, and I will never gamble at places who would charge me a resort fee. This includes free MyVegas rooms, which now charge a resort fee.

I am staying at NYNY for five nights in June with three nights comp. On my comp nights, there are no resort fees (verified), however on my two extended nights I am paying the resort fee. For five nights (Sunday - Thursday) including the resort fee I am only paying a little over $100 for player's room with a hot tub so I am okay with that. I am not a fan of resort fees, but in this case my wife and I decided we wanted to keep the room we were getting from NYNY over trying to transfer to another casino mid-trip (which I honestly hate doing) and most likely downgrading to a smaller room.
I've got a comped night at MGM Grand next week and was told I had to pay the resort fee (and I'm gold).
I recently was booking a Mirage room on comp offer, and was told I would have to pay resort fee.

I told her, "I've never paid a resort fee and I'm NOT starting now. Don't book it, I will
stay somewhere else."

So I booked elsewhere. Their loss.
My recent trip over Memorial day I had 3 nights comped at MGM plus a 4th paid night. In their system it said that I was to pay the resort fee for all nights. When I began (somewhat irately) to mention it at check in, the clerk cut me off in mid rant and removed the fee for all 4 nights. I kind of felt like an ass yet satisfied at the same time.
