Skyhigh Mirage rates week of Oct. 26

Why are the rates so high sun-wed this week?

honestly no idea; no major conventions until the next week.
Expedia lists Mirage at $135/nt--I wouldn't call that sky high, but maybe a bit high. TI shows $86, which seems like a decent rate. Interesting, many of the nearby hotels are showing $200-300/nt which is horrid for Sun-TH.

The PBR World Finals are Oct 22nd to the 26th. The weekend is where the world champion is determined and draws the biggest crowd. There's 40,000 plus people in town for the event and they usually stay a couple of days extra. I used to have lifetime tickets to it, but sold them a couple of years ago. It's a huge deal. (PBR is Professional Bull Riders).

Life is beautiful festival october 24th-26th but that's mainly a downtown event. Residual carryover maybe?
