Trying to Understand MLife

Profbac, Candy and Jeanhaka, thanks for all of the additional information. Very helpful. I am working on my itinerary and decided to dedicate about a half day to playing at the Bellagio, checking out the conservatory and the museum for breaks. I'm going to play VP and hopefully some blackjack. I'll report back re: my experiences. Thanks again.
Check your express comps before and after you play. Then compare that to similar play at a CET property.

I was in LV last week. I played four hours of ultimate texas holdem at CP. The total rewards desk told me that I earned less than $1. The same play at M Life properties has been earning close to $8 per hour in express comps, and free rooms at Bel, amd Aria. I am sticking with M.
Wow. I guess that's Exhibit A in support of the statement that M Life casinos treat table players better than CET treats them.
I am a Diamond at TR and Platinum MLife.I have been for Diamond 8 years and Platinum MLife since they started the system.
I play Craps and Blackjack.
For years I only played at Ceasars,Rio,Paris,Ballys
I switched to MGM properties several years ago in Las Vegas for a couple reasons

1. My play was not comped at TR properties on the same level as MGM properties.

2.MGM has nicer properties and better entertainment options in Las Vegas.

When looking for comps, all casinos base it on a % of your theo.
What you get depends on your play and the property.
$25 hand for 4 hours may get you a free room at Harrahs (TR) or Excalibur(MLife)
It won't get you a free lunch at Caesars or Bellagio.
My experience has been that MLife comps table play better and I can sight many examples of comparable play.

I know MLife made changes in Oct that reduced slot comps and limited the machines that you earn full tier credits on.Since I don't play machines I am not sure how that stacks up against TR earning.

In terms of Bellagio or anyone else rating play, keep in mind, comps are base on a % of theo.
So rating $10/hand blackjack may not mean a thing in terms of getting anything back.

Finally, don't go by the MLife website for what you can actually get staying at one of their properties.
Call the hotel and get a host or MLife representative they will usually offer more than their pathetic online offers.
The MLife website gives me 3 comp nights in a regular room at Aria or Bellagio.
My host at Aria gives me 5 nights in a Sky Suite.

This is where TR does have it over MLife as the TR website tells you what you get and you can book it online.
I don't want to stay at any of their Las Vegas properties but their system is better.

I don't like dealing with hosts but really appreciate the advice JMDLV1. If I have a heavy play day or two at Bellagio or Aria as planned -- I'd likely play a lot longer than play for a shorter period of time with bigger hands as I'll be in Vegas for a week!!!! -- I'll plan to call a host in advance of my first Vegas trip in 2013.
