What are 5,000 points worth?

Just "liked"the MGM facebook page and received my 5,000 points, but what are these worth? I looked around on the home page for M-Life, but didn't really see anything that explained that. My wife and I are locals, but don't play at MGM properties very often because they've never offered us anything.

It's 5000 tier points, not 5000 actual points. They have no value.

They can move you up from Pearl to Gold which gives you more offers and certain advantages at different properties I think a list is on the mlife.com site,

Hate to ask such a basic question, but I'm pretty ignorant about Facebook, never really use it.

I went to the MGM Facebook page, also the M-Life Facebook page, 'liked' both, but it didn't ask for my players club number nor acknowledge that I got the 5000 points. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, I think it's gonna take someone younger than me to tell me how to negotiate Facebook.
