Which Tower for NYNY?

Greetings,

We're heading to Vegas in August and will stay part of the trip at New York New York for the first time. I'm looking for a tower recommendation that has decent rooms with a strip view. Closer to the pool would be a plus as well. It won't be a comp, so $$$ is somewhat of a consideration but not the overriding one. If this makes a difference, it'll be mid-week for the couple of nights we'll stay there. Suggestions please?

It's been years since I've stayed @ NYNY but I do remember one tower has elevators right near the door to the pool. If you're looking for quality pool time, stay somewhere else. NYNY's pool is no bigger than the average apt complex pool and it shady until well after noon be causes of the buildings and parking structure. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy NYNY...Gallagher's is an excellent steakhouse, America is a good coffee shop and they have a nice selection of slots and table games.

Somebody said beware of getting a room where you have the roller coaster noise all night. I don't know first hand, never stayed at NYNY, but something to think about.

Thanks for both replies. I have only seen their pool around 2:00 in the afternoon walking from the parking garage, so I didn't know about the lack of sun time earlier in the day. And the monorail noise is definitely something to think about.

I can't say that the roller coaster noise ever bothered me in any of the rooms I've stayed in. There is one tower that is above the steak house that I noticed one the lower floors gets a weird smell, but as we went higher you didn't notice it.
