starting off on the right foot is going to be a point of emphasis for yale coach james jones tonight...bulldogs are off maybe their worst 1st half effort of the season last time out finding themselves down 8 at the break vs a dartmouth team winless in conference.yale is 4-4 in ivy league play so we don't have a bottom feeder here...yale boasts the leading scorer in the ivy(alex zampier),2 of the top 5 rebounders in the ivy and is the leading rebounding team overall in conf...another reason for starting well is in their last half of basketball vs princeton on january 30th they played arguably their worst 2nd half of the year being held to lowest scoring output of the season and not converting a fg in the last 6:26 of the game...that is pretty fresh in yale's mind and they know you can't fall behind too much vs this team and expect to come back...this will be a grinder of a 1st half and yale has been a better 1st half team for most of the year...in 6 of 8 ivy games they have either led or been down less than 5 at intermission as well as leading by 4 at providence and trailing by just 1 at colorado earlier this year...yale stays competitive in the 1st half as usual and 6.5 is a take here.

boy is this a generous number...with the espn lights in town this thing will be anyone's game late in the 4th qtr...i got a 33 win western conf team that has 17 road wins and is 8-3 at the eastern conf catching a few too many here imo...i think dallas really comes to play on the road tonight as their last 2 road efforts have not been good(at den before the break and at okc after the break)...mavs have taken 5 of last 6 in the series and 3 straight in orlando so there is a comfort level there...an inter-conference matchup much like the 2 games last night on national tv den-cle and bos -la both those games came to the final possession and it wouldn't suprise me to see a similar type game here...number a little inflated and dallas shows up tonight.
