721) Mizzouri -6 vs short Duckies Walter and Smokey's databases pointed out that the tallest player the Ducks have is 6' 6". Senior PG Armstead, and Junior Forward Jacob are both 'limited' tonight in playing time due to some nagging injuries. Travel is the only issue that keeps this from being a mini-scud missile play. Mizzou is concluding a 7 games in 14 days stretch, will have traveled over 7,000 miles by the time they return home, and lost to Georgetown in overtime just two nights ago. But fatigue in early season college hoops doesn't bother me, as these kids are used to playing 3-4 games per day in AAU ball in the summertime. And Mizzou is a very deep team, one whose reserves average over 30 points per game and have scored as many as 49. And after their coaching change (and change in style) Oregon has only six scholarship players in addition to the injuries mentioned above by His Royal Dudeness. It's tough to keep up with the 40 minutes of hell and waves of similarly skilled Mizzou reserves when you're that thin. It took 15 3-pointers and 18-18 from the line for Georgetown to pull out that OT win vs. Mizzou and the Hoyas had two St. Louis natives returning home in that one. Oregon has neither that kind of ability nor motivation. In addition to losing to San Jose State here, Oregon has, on this court, trailed North Dakota State, Denver, and UC Santa Barbara in the second half. Understand the travel concern, but even a slightly below average Mizzou game should be a double digit win here.
Wow, now THAT'S analysis
Kevin is good at that. Well read and well versed
