#858 Southern Miss +2.5 over Houston

#858 Southern Miss +2.5 over Houston With their up tempo style and recent sexy pair of wins over Memphis, the Houston Cougars may appear to have the collective advantages heading into tonight's CUSA Tournament game against Southern Miss. I, however, believe the Golden Eagles are the golden side in this one. Since his untimely departure from Iowa State for boozing it up with shapely coeds more than half his junior, Larry Eustachy has settled in nicely (and quietly) at the Hattiesburg campus. In contrast to his pedal-to-the-metal partying ways of yesteryear, Eustachy's brand of basketball is quite conservative and, yawn, quite boring. That style, however, is likely to take the run-and-gun Cougars of Tom Penders out of their preferred fast-paced brand of play. Advantage to Southern Miss and its 3 yards and a cloud of dust approach. Southern Miss has been one of CBB's top moneymakers this season, compiling a 20-7 ATS mark. The Golden Eagles are 11-2 ATS away from home, covering their last nine on the road. On the flip side, take away the two recent victories over Memphis, and the Cougars have covered just one of their past seven games. This line has dropped to 2 in some venues, but 2.5 can be found in most cases by those who have multiple outs. Good luck, Paul
Good Luck PStone... RAS on the same play.
Not Houston's Game As Paul suggests, Houston doesn't react well when forced to slow things down. 1-6 against the spread in games when total is 145 or less. This just isn't Penders' style of game. Never has been.
Guys, a whole lot of barking dogs thus far in the conference tournaments and hopefully we've got another one here. Good luck, Paul
