Alan Boston(akaBoston Red)--WOW!

Alan Boston(akaBoston Red)--WOW! Anyone who can get his real sides(not his small plays at great or impossible numbers) will do very well. They prob will do OK at 1/2 pt worse then what he played at. I know some of his friends and aqaintances. He works around the clock on CBB and watches the teams he interested in over and over again. He has even improved since having a falling out with B.W. about 8-12 years ago. Last night his plays were posted correctly BYU and Butler, and you saw how he lost BYU. His talent is CBB only. Dont follow him in anything else.
I would be very careful Most of the people in this industry are low character guys that you are better off avoiding
Butler was a right side. One could argue that BYU was wrong side. He's too black and white for me. His written opinions usually state that one teams is horrible, the coach is an idiot etc plus it appears he's not too interested in what the marketplace has to say about things. That's a weakness IMO. I do like some of the player insight which can be useful for prop betting.
Most of the people in this industry are low character guys that you are better off avoiding
I think that is a pretty obvious attempt to call Alan Boston a low character guy. I don't know the guy, but I respect his opionion, just like I respect yours. But I think if you are going to say someone is of low character, you should back it up. Does he kick his dog? Sleep with little boys? Obviously, if you think he gives out picks in order to change the spread so he can bet the other way, I would be interested in knowing that. But if you just don't like the guy, I think that is pretty irrelevent. All I'm interested in is the info he gives out on games. He gave out BYU as possibly the best bet of the year. I think the fact that it went to overtime meant that he was on the right side. He said Butler was an easy cover. He was pretty noncommital on the other two games. On Sunday, he said Washington and Florda State were the only teams he would take. 2-0. Every time I have heard him give a pick, I've taken that side. And more times than not, his picks have won me money.

I am somebody who was on Florida, but I really do not think BYU was the right side even if it ended up winning. Watching the game objectively it just looked like Florida was the more dominant team that had control of the game and if BYU would have won I would have considered it a big upset even though it was only a 2.5 spread. Florida outscored them 15-6 in the OT with BYU getting 2 FT on a questionable call on Tyus and then meaningless layup to end the game. Many scenarios could have played out in that last two minutes of regulation that could have gotten the BYU cover, but just as many for Florida in my opinion. Even with the BYU kid missing the second FT to keep the score tied, still 2 possessions left. Also before the BYU miss, Florida missed 3 of 4 FT. Many what if's that could have put the number in play, but Florida just looked far superior. Having said that, I am nobody and Mr. Boston has forgotten more about CBB Handicapping than I will ever know but I just think it is a bad example to contend it was the right side of a pick.
right side/ wrong side, I don't know, but with 1 minute to go in regualtion, BYU plus the points seemed good. I don't know the math for that situation, or the OT, but BYU + looked good.
A rule of thumb I use when analyzing after a game: Any back-and-forth game that goes to OT, when you have the dog, is a game in which you had the right side.

This does make sense but I do think it varies on the number, obviously +2.5 and losing in OT is different from +5 and losing in OT. Also I would contend that it really was not a back and forth game. Of the 45 Minutes played, BYU held the lead for a TOTAL of 3 min 23 seconds, the last time being at the 18:10 mark of the second half when it was 39-38. Florida had the advantage almost the whole game of not playing from behind. Obviously I think in that situation it is going to depend on the number, but covering 3 much different than any larger number.
BYU was tied at the end of regulation and getting 3 when their best player had by far his worst shooting game of the year. Anyone thinks Florida was the right side in that game needs their head examined.
