Alan Boston(akaBoston Red)--WOW!

Boston had his day. WHen he stated why he liked Wash over Carolina it also really hit home and made sense. He is still capable tho clearly past his prime. Some other wannabees are giving sides and totals with no basketball capping skills at all.
agree....but these VIDEOS seem to be hard to find at quadjacks if u find sundays let us know
it's up today: KY and a lean to Kan
Yep I think the logic w unc v wash was old retards vs young retards. Old retards ususally win!lol

I couldn't agree more with "The Dude". I don't have the personal knowledge of Boston that he does, but every chance I get, I listen to him and I always learn something. I'm not listening to him to get poker tips or to learn how to raise my kids. I'm listening to get knowledge about betting on college basketball. And he has that knowledge.
How IQ VERBAL guys just don't make good gamblers typically High IQ math guys do. Just my observation........... I think my biggest problem with Alan is that he can be a total ass and doesn't realize it. Plus he is the classic bully. Yells and screams and puts down people left and right. BUT......say something negative about him, and he explodes. Get over yourself buddy. Your a smart, gifted, enterntaining guy but my goodness you are caustic and hormonal.
Fez, I have to strongly disagree with you on something you said earlier. I have tried to be cordial and not state the obvious, but I just can't keep up the charade. You insinuated that Boston isn't that smart because he's picking sides that are off by 1.5 points and there are totals out there that are off by 8 points. If that is the case, where are they? Other than preseason NFL bets, all you do is post 45% winners for two years straight in this forum. Right Angle is 50% this year, and that is at the lines they give out, not the adjusted lines, and you claim Edward is the best. If there are a bunch of totals out there that are off by 8 points, why haven't you posted them in this thread? Do you have someone "donking" for you making your picks? I think it's a slap in my face and a slap in the face of everyone on this board for you to act like picking totals is easy when we have been put through a whole season of losing basketball picks from you. I know you make your living gambling, and I respect that. But if you're doing it betting totals, you sure as hell aren't sharing them with us. And your buddy Edward isn't sharing the easy winners with his clients, either. There are people new to sports gambling on this site. To make the inference that betting totals is easy is a real disservice to them. To say it in a way to make people believe that you are so smart is also not fair. Because they read that and think that you are just going to be posting all kinds of winning totals while they are on this site. If past results are indicative of future results, that isn't happening, either.
Good post. I would also submit that 8 points on a basketball total does NOT equate to 8 points on a basketball side. For instance, a total on a game may be 125 or thereabouts, while individual teams are scoring only around half that number. So the number of points that a side or total might be "off" by is really comparing apples to oranges. Also, although i know nothing about handicapping basketball, i would think that handicapping sides and totals require a different mindset. One guy might be able to accurately gauge individual matchups or what have you, while another guy might be better at predicting game-flow. Of course they're related, but not necessarily the same. Whatever the case, i enjoy listening to Boston for sheer entertainment value. Also because he's not afraid to share an opinion, or go out on a limb if the situation warrants it. I know from being a horse handicapper that you're just not going to be right all the time. So i don't care if he's wrong on a reasonable amount of his picks. His is still a very informed opinion, and one worth hearing. Incidentally, my hat's off to him in his analysis of the Butler Bulldogs. He's called that one pretty much from the get-go.
The problem is posting winners vs. betting winners. Also, I don't know the backup point guards (or the starting ones!) and Boston does. If I knew what Boston knew I would crush totals in CBB. I think I have posted what 4 totals that landed on the number......won all of them in my own bets......MUCH harder to post and win than bet and win, 2x as hard if you do BOTH.
Respectfully disagree
Good post. I would also submit that 8 points on a basketball total does NOT equate to 8 points on a basketball side.
Although I dont have the stats to back me up (maybe someone can get them) it seems like totals hit close to the line more often or at the very least as often as a side. Doesn't matter that a side might be +2 or a total 145 what matters is how close it hits to the line as to whether the 8 point differential is more important. The books tell us they are equal as a teaser is 4 points in BB whether it is a side or a total.
