Alan Boston(akaBoston Red)--WOW!
how did you feel when he won it 2 years straight? embarrassed?
The first year he won I had no idea who he was so I didn't really think anything of it. The next year he won I was impressed but truthfully was rooting against him at the end cause I knew it would give him a big head. But I definitely bet on the games and enjoyed winning.
Did you bet on the games at the lines he had in the tournament?
This past year that wasn't the case, and it was especially hard to judge since you quit caring with a few weeks left.
Mac - I think I am reading what you said right - I just disagreed - you said it was "hard to judge" him last year "since [he] quit caring with a few weeks left." And I'm saying I disagree, his plays were bad from start to finish. Nothing hard to judge about it. And we're not talking WA numbers, we're talking about stale as hell numbers and he was down at 43% after the midway point of the season. That's bad. I never said he didn't know what he was doing strategy-wise, for the contest. But being a member here for 2 years now, I can honestly say, I'm not really sold on Fez in the NFL right now. I know his influence on the industry, in the sport, but for 2 years now his WA plays have lost and he was crushed in the '10 Hilton. I 100% hope he turns it around in 2011 and kills, so I can win some money too. But I don't hold him up to where many of you guys do. He's a 50% NFL handicapper the last 2 years. And he had 2 very great contests followed by one very bad one. Call it like it is.
I know in '09 your Hilton picks were huge ATS winners even though you said the spread had changed too much to bet them. This past year that wasn't the case, and it was especially hard to judge since you quit caring with a few weeks left. This is a ridiculous pissing contest, but I think I've got the advantage, because I wrote the paragraph. I said this past year wasn't the case, meaning that his picks weren't winners like they were in '09. I said it was especially hard to judge since he quit caring with a few weeks in the contest, meaning that we'll never know what would have happened if he played out the whole season. He could have ran off an 18-2 streak to close the season that would have put him well above 50%. But we'll never know. Because he quit caring about the contest. I'm not a Fez apologist. For the two years I've been on this board he's shown a great ability to predict where lines will go, but no ability to pick the games ATS, regardless of the line. I don't have a lot of confidence going forward, either, with the way he's always talking about WA lines being unbeatable.
