The Bucknell factor: Why Sports Betting is so much harder in 2011 than 2005

The Bucknell factor: Why Sports Betting is so much harder in 2011 than 2005 Six years ago, Vermont opened 12 vs. Syracuse. The line drifted down 1/2 a point a day, with plenty of time to grab +11.5, +11 etc. Vermont won outright. Fast forward to 2011. Similar situation Bucknell/UCONN. UConn on a 5-0 SU, ATS run in 5 days the hottest team in the league. Game opens 11.5. BLINK Monday morning and it's 10.5. Speaks volumes about the current marketplace. EVEN WITH EVERY SQUARE sure to bet UCONN, the pros know the line should NOT be double digits, and we take it out, before someone else does.
I must be getting closer to pro status or away from Donk. Got Bucknell at 11 yesterday for same reason. Number too large. Nice to know I'm in good company.
There are no squares anymore. It's too royal a pain in the ass to move money. People just bet their buddies when it takes 4 weeks to get a check from books.

The flip side of Sean's comment: If they ever legalize gambling fully, there will be tons of opportunity. All these suckers who donate $$$ to their local or an agent will be able to get accounts wherever they want. I hope we see that day soon.
