Buffalo/CMU Over

Buffalo/CMU Over Andrew Lange has recommended a play on the "Over" in the Buffalo/CMU game. Consider these numbers of Buffalo opponent's season averages in FG% and 3-point% versus the numbers in the games against Buffalo. Buffalo at Central Michigan O/U 139 While some coaches and players can lay claim that they “need” to play defense in order to win, at some point a team is what the stats show. Buffalo has allowed 86.2 ppg in its last five contests and no matter what report you read, head coach Reggie Witherspoon doesn’t have a whole lot of answers. The Bulls prefer to play at a fast pace and coupled with a lack of defense the marketplace has been unable to catch up with their totals. Those last five games had an average closing total of 140 with a final game score average of 159.2. And it isn’t as if those opponents were offensive juggernauts. Ball State, with one of the worst offenses and slowest paces in the country managed to slip in a cool 75 points. Central Michigan isn’t great with the ball, nor do they play at a breakneck pace but go back a couple of weeks and check out their game against Northern Illinois in which they won 81-75. The Huskies are virtually identical to Buffalo – fast pace and no defense. CMU claims it won’t get caught up in a fast paced game but will it matter considering the success rate teams have had against Buffalo? Don’t get off the train now, play it over.
