Butler victory - correlated to the Under? Any thoughts?
Not sure what you mean, but high on the list of square beliefs is "if you like side A, you have to like the under. If you like side B, you have to like the over." Side A is always the slower paced team and/or a large underdog. Side B is the faster paced team and/or a big favorite. It's not as square as the donks who think a neutral game means one should weigh road stats heavier for both teams, but it's high on the list.
It's my understanding that Butler is a half-court-oriented team, so it seems to me that their gameplan would be to slow the game down to a certain extent. If they're successful in doing that i would imagine they'll have a better chance to win. It doesn't have anything to do with them being a dog, at least from my perspective. Of course, I'm just going by what I've heard. I haven't watched much of the tournament, and I have no clue about hoops betting as a general rule. That's why i'm asking questions.
I've studied that theory for years. Granted it was an isolated series, but a few years back Phoenix met San Antonio. There was one game in which there were suspensions because of fights the previous game. Other than that, every game San Antonio--the half-court team covered, it went over. Every game Phoenix, the run and gun team covered, it went under. I have never seen any evidence, when two dichotomous styles clash that if one style team covers, it's more likely to go over or under.
