Cappers releasing plays competitive advantage is text messaging

Cappers releasing plays competitive advantage is text messaging Right Angle Sports clearly way ahead of others I've seen in this area as they release their plays by text message. I'm sure there must be others I just obviously don't have the subscription. It obviously gives me the best chance to get down on plays that are released late. I know it won't help me with the number on the original release as receiving that text message will be too late vs. being on the countdown screen. I've missed a number of plays by Dan Gordon's service from receiving e:mails too close to the start of a game. He doesn't have too many of these plays over a season but a few times per year he likes to chime in late on an NFL or NBA day. And I don't like to miss too many plays from Gordon that is for sure. This board struggles worse in this area as Fez likes to comment late and he makes probably more plays based on market movement than other capper so a release time for Fez doesn't work as well. Fez has released even some in game plays during the NBA playoffs. It certainly is appreciated but practically I'm not sure how anyone gets down unless they just happen to be checking into the site. At a minimum you need to subscribe to his Twitter account where perhaps he may give you an alert that he released the play. The other favourite is even a few times I've seen Fez comment " No more bets". I'm way ahead here as this usually means I always check just before the game because this comment actually means "Definitely more bets". It is fair to say to the subscriber to be logged in all of the time and refresh e:mail every 10 minutes especially in the hour before the game. That is probably what I might have to practically do. However, it can be a problem since although I am logged in almost always I usually have my screen up and can often be already betting at a property or driving to a property. My priority will always be betting an off number so those that half hour before the games is really not a good time to allocate time for refreshing e:mail if it could be avoided. Any release within the last 15 minutes before game time or even 30 minutes if I'm driving in some cases it may not even be doable by me as it can take 15 minutes to wait in line, make a bet, get it approved, etc. and get back to my computer. A high percentage of the time there won't be a play so taking this step to refresh e:mail will be a waste of my oh so valuable time especially during the period where CBB, CFB, NFL, NBA and NHL all intersect. Refreshing email on NFL HT is extremely difficult since they are only 12 minutes or so and if I make any bets at a property or surf my internet accounts at all for value there isn't much other time anyway. From a practical standpoint text messaging is the preferred method IMO. I don't expect it but I do think it is a goal a service may want to have.
Have you tried subscribing to the picks threads and having your phone send notifications when you receive new emails?
Thanks. No, I haven't. I suppose that would help. I think I've read here the threads aren't locked so that sometimes I would be notified of an e:mail and it wouldn't be a play. I only say help because it is still leaving me to have to check my e:mail but a much improved process since I can avoid the refreshing angle to my e:mail. I still think text messaging is the way to go though. In game betting, HT betting, late releases, unscheduled releases, etc. I think most people understand why text messaging is good for in game betting or HT. It is the late release where I think some handicappers and bettors don't follow the need and that is because likely they are not full time property bettors in Nevada. I have missed some DG Sunday morning plays where in fairness to him he's released as early as 8 in the morning 2 hours before the game. However, I might take my last look at e:mail at 7:30 or so on a Sunday. (Quite honestly I miss many of this board's plays when they're made on a Sunday during football). After 7:30 my entire focus will be betting at properties in Reno and making online bets. There just won't be alot of downtime. I'll be in lineups after 9 on bets, scrambling to make bets offshore, driving to make a number at a property different than where I am,etc. But that is a lot of blurb the last paragraph as it really applies to anyone who just carries a phone and not a computer around or even when they are at home just prefer not to walk over to their computer every 10 minutes to see if they got a late e:mail. Just text me the play I'll bet it. I have lots of time for betting. Just not a lot of time for reading e:mails in the 30 minutes before games. No doubt though I'll have to improve and add this step of refreshing e:mail or subscribing to the thread. I won't expect the text messaging to come to all of the places I look at soon.
With a smart phone your emails should instantly go to you like a text, maybe not quite instantly but more reliable than texts often. I know they are expensive but when plan is due for renewal something to look into. Subscribe to threads, get email updates, email update goes to phone.

There are so many uses for smartphones that the extra expense gets absorbed: Time value of money (apps save a ton of time) Offers you can store on your phone (Groupon and someday LVA MRB hopefully, hint hint) Push notifications (as Mike described)
