Cbb 1-1-2010 720) New Mexico -4, 1st Half. 1% play.
The fact that Dayton has been living and dying by the 3 point shot vs Boston U, Appy state, presbyterian, etc is not going to be enough to get it done here in The Pit. Steve Alford has been very impressive with the job he has done at New Mexico and has 5 starters that are all near double digits in scoring. They also have only given up 31% from downtown this year vs a tougher schedule with wins over Cal, A&M, USD, and Texas Tech.
Edge in Rebs, assists, steals,TOs, and injuries.

They’re still not at full strength since Luke Fabrizius is recovering from a sprained knee, but Chris Johnson, perhaps the team’s best all-around player, returned to action this week with 12 points against Boston University after missing almost two full games with a concussion. Another sidelined player, Marcus Johnson (sprained foot), also is back in the rotation.
CLASSIC QUOTES BELOW FROM PAT KNIGHT

“What it is — you have a hungry team here at New Mexico,” Knight said. “You got a satisfied team at Texas Tech. That’s the problem with kids. They read on the internet. Everyone’s kissing their ass — being ranked and all of that — and it gets to them. That’s the thing we’re fighting with the internet. I can’t stop them from looking things up on the phone.”
“You score 70-some points — that’s enough to win,” Pat Knight said Tuesday. “Nobody ask me questions about offense. Offense has nothing to do with it. You got to guard; you got to defend. I could give a flying shit about the offense right now. … Our problem is we don’t guard (expletive) anybody right now.”
