this number is a tad generous imo and if southern illinois was not in double revenge then this number is closer to pk...drake won the 1st meeting 70-65 in a game where both teams shot almost identical percentages from the floor and the 3 point line but drake out boarded siu by 7...so nothing too substantial either way but drake found a way to win on the road...then in the 2nd meeting the salukis came into des moines revenge minded,out shoot drake from both the field and from long range,out rebound drake and still lose the game 79-72...so illinois has played 2 pretty good basketball games vs this drake team and come away 0-2...this tells me there are fundamental differences between the clubs...first off mark phelps right now is running circles around chris lowery as a head coach...on top of that we have a mismatch at the free throw line with drake coming in 2nd in the missouri valley at a very strong 76% and southern ill finishing last in the conference being the only mvc team not to be in the 70's percentage wise...drake is 1st in the conf and 8th in the nation in 3 pt fg made per game at 8.6 also leading the valley at an overall 38% behind the arc...practice was not fun in des moines this week and drake should be raring to go tonight.last time out on saturday night at home on senior night they were beaten by last place evansville(3-15 in conf) as a 9.5 point favorite...much better coached team in a great bounce back spot off that disappointment 5 nights ago...when a team is trying to beat an opponent for the 3rd time in the same season we are going to see an over reaction and an over correction in the number...drake is a better basketball team and we should be around a pk em tonight...drake +3.5 a great bet and here are my 3 other plays for tonight in cbb.
