Fez pick Atlanta/Chicago under 158.5 Had to do a little work when I see he played under 161.5 on a tweet as well and I see it is 162.5 now. No over for Right Angle that I saw so geez there is a 3rd person who is following the WNBA. That is growth. Fez this year and now a 3rd person.
Just some simple stats that I pulled to get a feel for it. The Dream (that is Atlanta---heckuva sports town I'm sure this team does well) average 79 (no decimals and will round up) and give up 85. Chicago scores on average 78 and yields 77.
(164+155)/2=159.5
I'll be fancy and use the WNBA site provided 5 game average trend. The Sky are still at 78 and allow 73 for only 151. Of course they could have played Tulsa 3 times for all I know and I'm not bothering to look that is a drop. But Atlanta is going the other way scoring 79 and allowing 87.
(151+166)/2=158.5
This is probably the formula Fez was referring to in that oddsmakers use these really simple analysis without any situations.
It looked like they played twice recently and the games final total was 150 and 139. I assume both of these are under the total posted.
The center for Atlanta might be out and the center for Chicago Fowles is a scoring machine maybe league's leading scorer. I don't see the injury on VI but in the preview it says she has a bad back. I don't know what it means and this is where you call experts but does Fowles score more?
Just curiosity, why has this line gone from -4 to -6 on Atlanta who may not have this center and actually seem to stink and their home crowd can't be that good can it? Sorry, that is just my own comment. I'm sure there is a reason for it like Fowles is going on the coca cola tour before the game and they're going to poison the sample she gets near the end of the tour.
I don't really know of any situations perhaps Atlanta reads these stats and says we need to play some D. Atlanta only makes 22% of their 3 point shots that is the worst in the league. Maybe they try to turn that around too. Maybe neither is possible.
It is only a 1 unit under. It seems reasonable. I can do it at 162.5. I'll wait take my chance I miss it in case I'm way off. Fez's methods are proprietary but he likes the under at 158.5. The line can't be that far off a fair line.
