Friday Night MVC Tourney Opinion

Friday Night MVC Tourney Opinion Friday, March 5th Missouri St vs. Wichita State (MVC Tournament, St Louis) Recommendation: Take Missouri State +2.5 (#851) Missouri State head coach Cuonzo Martin came into the MVC conference tournament with a boatload of expectations. “We have the mindset of going in and winning the conference tournament. It’s not a question of going in and competing. We’re past the competing part.” The Bears have a boatload of momentum following last night’s tight win over Evansville. They won a game in which they shot terribly, hitting just 33 percent from the floor and just 8-16 from the free throw line, while losing the turnover battle. But Missouri State made all the key plays down the stretch, ending the game on a 7-0 run to get past the pesky Purple Aces. Missouri State survived and advanced despite facing all kinds of adversity, exactly the type of team that makes bettors money here in conference tournament season. And, with a deep rotation – ten players saw meaningful minutes last night and only one of them – leading scorer Kyle Weems – played more than 29 minutes, leaving them relatively fresh here. Both regular season games between these two teams were barnburners. The Bears trailed by 25 early in the second half of the first meeting, but they rallied all the way back to cut the lead to one before falling just short. The rematch was equally agonizing, as Missouri State led by three with 4:30 remaining, but were held scoreless for the next four minutes as Wichita went on a 9-0 run to steal the win. There’s no class difference involved in this matchup. Wichita State was a cash cow for my clients and I throughout the month of January, consistently undervalued by the betting marketplace. But after an extended stretch of pointspread success, the Shockers personified my ‘buy low, sell high’ sports betting mantra, failing ATS in six of their last seven games. Wichita State lost each of their last four games away from home in SU fashion, making them a poor choice to notch the season sweep in tonight’s meeting. Take Missouri State (#851). There is no rush to bet this -- no surprise at all if we see +3 or higher before tip-off
the line is + 3 here at the M resort
Mizz St leads or is covering entire game and then late game missed FT shooting, excellent FT shooting by Wich St, and several missed layups costs the cover. Incredible loss on this one....as bad of luck as someone can have. To boot Mizz St makes 4 straight turnovers in last 45 seconds without getting a shot off. Wow.
the big issue was 2 intentional fouls called b2b on MizzySt. Led to 5 or 6 pts in a row for WSU and that was all she wrote

Bottom Line is the Shockers are the better team. Sometimes handicappers make sexy plays because they want be noted for doing so.
Quite similar to the last meeting between the two squads. Tie game at the 1:30 mark, Shockers made the plays that counted down the stretch; Bears did not. Nothing to do with being 'sexy' Big Pappa -- I don't write up or post any game that I'm not betting myself.
On the SupTeaser (not that anyone would play it) the +9.5 loss was bad beat of year Ming boggling bad final minute.
teddy i know you are a great bettor, but can u please give us a bet sometime that is NOT a popular bet, it seems lately you like the obvious ones...( big favorites ie: mizzz st not withstanding a small dog) I respect your opinions, but you seem to gravitate to the obvious, when im lookin to find he best bets that smart guys make that are NOT easy on paper
Just to make this perfectly clear, and I hope this doesn't come across as rude, because I'm not trying to be rude at all: I don't care whether my play is 'sexy'. I don't care whether my play 'gravitates to the obvious'. All I care about is winning bets, and providing pertinent information which you can use to help you with your wagers today and in the future. I could give two shits whether the opinions are sexy, obvious or somewhere in between.... Just as I did this time, I'll do my best to post a winner next time. And the time after that. I'm not touting anything here. I respect what Anthony, Fez and Alf are doing, and I'm trying to do my best to keep this forum active, with good information, just as it's been in recent weeks and months.
Nicely done.
