how about a player try to get to the rim at the buzzer.....
Where's Jimmy Chitwood when you need him?
No doubt. Jimmy's last shot to win the state title was an iso play for him, and he hit a pull-up jumper. "I'll make it."
Ollie was open in the corner, but you knew Jimmy was going to be da' man.
Ollie was open in the corner, but you knew Jimmy was going to be da' man.
That can't be right, can it? Ollie was on the floor for the last shot? Hickory had a 3 man bench for that last game (the scene where Buddy gets back on the team was deleted, and Jimmy joined mid-season), so did 3 guys foul out for Ollie to get some PT? But I do remember Coach Dale almost out thinking himself by originlly calling the last play for Merle.

ollie was out there in a diaper in the alternative ending version 3 on blu ray

It looked like Jimmy had about 30 of Hickory's 42 or 40 points (however many they had) in the Championship game. Jimmy Chitwood, played by the famous Maris Valainus, I believe.
Bill Simmons on ESPN.com did a "Hoosiers" box score. Here it is: The Sports Guy's projected box score Player Min FG-A FT Reb Ast Stl Pts Jimmy 32 14-18 2 6 0 2 30 Buddy 32 1-3 2 3 4 4 4 Rade 32 2-5 0 3 2 2 4 Merle 29 0-3 0 4 3 1 0 Flatch 28 2-7 0 9 1 1 4 It's strange to me that Everett doesn't appear in Simmons' box score. Everett was a rebounding machine. And, for what it's worth, Maris Valainus quite acting and became a golf pro somoewhere in SoCal.

I'm embarrased, and I apologize.
