I just watched a fixed game.

I just watched a fixed game. USC fouls over and over down the stretch, after obviously toying with their opponenet for most of the 2nd half. Two fouls in final 30 seconds ish on a UCLA three point shooter. No boxing out on putbacks off of missed 1 and 1's. 9 point lead becomes 4. Call me crazy all you want, halftime line was steamed to hell to the dog. I know what I just watched.

Terrible game to watch. You might argue that the refs suck and don't call much for most of the game then call a bit to much at the end. I doubt it though.

SC has by far the superior athletic talent. The SC coach is either a dipshit, or they don't listen to him. Or both. After every good play by a SC player, I literally wanted to fight them for sticking their toungues out and strutting in such a close game. Of course, close by my standard of winning by 8, that is. Still, the players need to be checked from someone. Where's my valium...
u took the words out of my mouth...i thought the team down by points was supposed to foul late? dont forget the foul on the drive to the basket as well on sc that stopped the clock. i think they fouled ucla times under 50secs.

Kevin O'Neill is sharp but..... So many games look like fixes. There is so much poorly-played, poorly executed basketball. A lot of times you can't blame the coach, especially a first year coach who inhereted all the players like (the well-named) USC coach Kevin O'Neill. He's actually a good x's and o's guy who was well respected in the NBA for his work as an assistant. But these aren't his kids, he has a thin roster, and when these kids don't listen to him there's only so much he can do. And even if you have your own players, if you're a college coach you can't bench every kid who does something stupid and put inferior talent out there. You just can't. The boosters will kill you for sacrificing games for the longer term greater good. And there's less job security than ever before in the revenue sports in college. Additionally, these kids have spent a hell of a lot more time playing AAU ball than they have in a structured environment, which does nothing to provide them with the fundamentals of basketball or basic game strategy. It simply is not ingrained in them. High level high school kids are pretty coddled and don't really have to learn to play smart. That's why you often see more intelligent play in the Missouri Valley, Horizon, etc. than you do in the major majors. There's only so much these coaches can do. If you bet college basketball you're at the mercy of a lot of poorly played, unintelligent basketball. And that won't be changing any time soon. So you can get yourself all worked up with phantom fixes or you can just realize that you'll have both wins and losses that are completely undeserved and random and keep your head on straight. Your call.
If a fixed game could only move the line from -7.5 to -6.5 on Pinnacle and there wasn't any resistance when the line moved back from -6.5 to -7, the fixers didn't get very much money down on their fix.
I agree [QUOTE=RealWorldSports;17103]So many games look like fixes. There is so much poorly-played, poorly executed basketball. Basketball as any experienced gambler will tell you is so fuckin close. The bad beats and close wins are all over the place daily. I watched every second of this game with big plays on the over and UCLA. Not a fix. 1. On Saturday had under 174 Nova/PC game falls on 173. 2. Had New Mexico -3 and had the game won and lost several times and in OT it fell on 3 for a push after a freshman hit an off balance 3 for the dog 3. SUnday OS/Illinois 2nd half there was 4 three pointers taken in the last minute and if any of them hit the over comes in. Instead all miss and it turns in a L. I could go on. These rough finishes are the norm in college baskets.

I forgot this one but GREAT example. Team winning outright the entire game as +10 Dog and it loses by 10. It hurts if you had Auburn. Right side push for you Skins.
