Lakers series price is -170 to -195 over... Boston. Bookmaker at present has -195. Hmmmmmm........
Boston. Bookmaker at present has -195. Hmmmmmm........
I don't understand this price. Rondo, if close to 100%, is a fairly sizable advantage for the Celtics. Also, I think the Celtics punk the Lakers off the boards. Yes, no one stops Kobe. Although I love the Lakers as a fan, I'd have to fade them with the Celtics at +175 or so.:(
Agreed Climate. There is no way in hell this line is right. Celts when healthy have proven to be a great team. Kobe has not done as well vs Boston. I have no prediction on what might or might not happen in this series but at these odds Boston is the way to go. Suns, Utah and Ok city are good but flawed teams...against Boston you have the real deal with a complete deep experienced talented team, that plays great defense.
Boston is also healthier than would otherwise be expected because Doc Rivers has limited the Big Three's minutes throughout the playoffs.

I will say this though, I think the Lakers defense is being overlooked do to the fact the suns torched it consistently. The Celtics do not have nearly the perimeter shooting the Suns have to stretch their defense. Kobe,Fish and especially Artest can De with the best of em. IMHO I believe the Zenmaster had this mathup (or the Cavs) in mind when they brought in RonRon. He will be a very tough defender on Pierce and he will keep Pierce away from the basket when he defends Ronny. The big 3 (rondo not KG) will be defended by the best 3 Laker defenders, who all are capable of handling swithes to boot, thanks to Allens small size at sg. I also think Kobe will get his fair share of defending Rondo. They should also be guarding him tighter to block passing lanes, unlike Orlando and Cleve, who frankly didn't defend much at all. Both teams will see their best defensive opponent's by far. The Celts are good and have a punchers chance, but if KG pulls one of his karate chops or elbows and gets thrown out, which is just waiting to happen, that would kill them. I think Zenman has been waiting for this for a long time and gets sweet revenge in 6. Just one man's opinion. Good day San Diego!
Tiny, tiny coaching edge to LA oops....maybe make that a bit larger
oops....maybe make that a bit larger
You were much closer with the tiny edge comment. Doc is a damn fine coach.
You are correct. Doc is a damn good coach. Maybe the 2nd best in the league, right there with Pop. But 10 rings, please. I don't care if he had the allstar team, that's money.
Go West Coast!
The lack of proper adjustments to the Phoenix zone in game 4 left me questioning the almighty coaching ability of Phil Jackson. That is not the only time Jackson has not gotten his team to correct short-comings. Sure, he's won a boat load of titles. Was it personnel, or coaching and personnel? Or just coaching? I'm not sold on Phil Jackson being the almighty. That being said, I do have a normal wager on LA to win the series over Boston. But Jackson was not a factor in my decision for that play.
