Locking Threads

Locking Threads Anthony, Is there a reason that we can not have an option for an original poster to lock his threads?? If it is a cost of programming issue please let me know how much it is and I may pay it. It is simply too frustrating to continually get alerts on threads because people cant follow instructions. BTW, great night Burger thanks!
You're welcome. Hope it helped.
There are problems inherent in allowing posters to lock their own threads. Are you saying you want someone like Burger to have a thread that others don't post on? Maybe we can create some sort of designation that means others don't post.
Yes. I would request that in picks threads where the poster does not want posts (Burger and Fezz have made such requests) the poster can lock his thread. Reason being that many posters have instant notification of those types of threads and it can get frustrating when you rush to check a post and it is an "attaboy". Thanks.

[QUOTE=6pounder;40073]bkeiller, get the iphone. Seems to me that if guys like Burger are giving us their picks for free the least we can do is respect their requests in their threads. And even if you have a smart phone there are times when it is simply not convenient to check the phone. Meetings, driving etc. Also, the last time I was there using a phone in a sports book was illegal in Vegas. Is that still the case??
It became legal in August 2008. I think it's still legal now. The Internet just doesn't work that way. People don't remember not to reply to a thread because someone told them to. I mean, we're a pretty upstanding group for the most part, and even we're not sophisticated enough to remember that. You have to give the poster admin capabilities. Then he can lock his thread and unlock it only when he is posting a reply. Otherwise, we just have to self-police but not be surprised when someone forgets.

I agree 100% with your post and thats why I originally asked if it could be locked. I would guess that Anthony may not want people to have admin capabilities but hopefully there is another solution. And we will always have new members that will not know not to post in a certain thread.
Bump due to Fezz's thread. We get anywhere on this Anthony?? Thanks.
