MEMO to Selection Committee, why not ask gamblers to select the field? OK, it cannot ALL be about power ratings.
However, narrow it down to the last 5 slots, 12 teams in the running. Then, turn it over to someone with good power ratings, and just take the 5 best teams based on current power ratings at that time.
I know we need to measure the teams by the entire body of work, but surely a logical, reasonable tiebreaker is to take the best teams at the time of the selection date.
Is this so unreasonable?
