Mon 11/15 CBB

Mon 11/15 CBB You know you're running bad when you are happy with a 7-8 day. 24-36 (-17.1) 515/516 William & Mary/Richmond OV 130 Total has moved down huge from opener. W & M shot terrible at UVA. Both teams can bomb them in the net. 517 Yale (+19) (-109) 1.5* Yale lost to Quinnipiac on Saturday on a neutral (Mohegan Sun) by 9. They were down 22 at one point. Quinnipiac is picked to win the NEC. Providence crushed Dartmouth. Prov is playing a lot of freshmen. Think this line is too high here. 519 Tulane (+21') 1.5* Georgetown had to put everything they had into winning at Old Dominion on Friday. Tulane played an odd road game on Friday at MD-Eastern Shore so they don't have to travel here. 521 Valparaiso (+22) 1.5* Valpo has played on the road at North Carolina, Michigan St, Butler and Purdue last year and at Vandy and Wisconsin the years before. They won't be intimidated by this environment at Kansas. They have big guys that shoot the ball well. Kansas is still trying different lineups with 5-star PG Josh Selby still not eligible. They shot like 65% against Longwood. Tougher matchup here. 523/524 Troy/Alabama UN 141' https://www2.dothaneagle.com/sports/2010/nov/14/tide-trojans-square-hardwood-ar-1089914/ And green, as in, conserve your resources. For while the Trojans love to push the pace and fly up and down the court, so does second-year coach Anthony Grant’s Crimson Tide. Maestri, in his 29th season at Troy, said he may apply the brakes a bit. “We probably don’t want to run with Alabama,” Maestri said. “They’ve got a very, very good speed game. I watched them play. They’ve got great athletes. ... I don’t think we want to be in a track meet and stay in the game with them. We’ll have to play a little smarter and eat up a little more clock.” 533 Hampton (+7) 1st H 533 Hampton (+13) Game 2* Usually I'd take a team off a bad loss like Wake Forest. However, they have no point guard with Tony Chennault now out 8-10 weeks with a broken foot. It takes a while to get used to Bzdelik's system. Wake Forest basically has a ton of wing players and no point guard. They kicked Tony Woods off the team so they are young in the post. 543/544 Wofford/Clemson OV 130 Wofford struggled shooting the ball at Minnesota on Friday, but could fare a little better here. Clemson is not slowing down their pace, they're just not pressing as much. However, Brad Brownell is making them more efficient on offense. 547 Fairfield (+2') Fairfield is the fav to win the MAAC. They also have Greg Nero and Warren Edney healthy after missing last year (when they still won 23 games, yet didn't play in any postseason tourney).
549 Siena (+16) 549/550 Siena/Minnesota OV 142' Siena off a home loss to Vermont where they shot 36%. Minnesota stepped up without usual starting point Devoe Joseph and beat a good Wofford by 14. Here comes the slight letdown. Siena is big-time downgraded off their loss. However, this is the getaway game for the Gophers before they head to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off (one of the best preseason tourneys out there that includes a field of N Carolina, W Virginia, Vandy, W Kentucky, Davidson, Hofstra and Nebraska). Siena still has Ryan Rossiter who can bang and compete with the Gopher bigs.
537/538 Pacific/Nevada OV 133' They scored 119 combined in last year's meeting when Nevada had two NBA players. Yet the total's in the 130's. Hmmm.
Julian Vaughn out tonight for Georgetown.

542 CS Fullerton (+4) Perhaps a motivated effort from Fullerton bunch who gave up a 14-0 run to Hawaii after being tied 70-70 with 3 min to go.
Michael Sands has left Yale basketball team. He didn't play Friday vs. Quinnipiac. This is built into line.
545/546 Austin Peay/Chattanooga OV 139' AP's numbers are skewed b/c they played at slow Saint Louis.
539 Pepperdine (+18') (-107) Pepperdine actually has edge in the backcourt here. They should have won at Portland St, but missed FT's and Portland St shot like 31-38 FT.
519 Tulane (+8') 2nd H Tulane shot 27% in 1st H and GTown over 50, but only 12-pt lead. 525/526 San Diego/Stanford OV 133' 526 Stanford (-14) Stanford lost by 13 at USD last year. USD replaces their backcourt of Johnsons and got a lot less athletic.
549/550 Siena/Minnesota UN 76 2nd H Scoring slowed way down in 1st half. Hedging my original over. Got Siena +16, so hope that hangs on and I get 2-1 out of it.
